I know some of you have to re-upload so everyone isn't on this list yet... But, as you upload your entry, if you could shoot me a pm and give me a link to your bts video, that would be super helpful in me getting through these more quickly.

I just approved Chris' entry. About to review Revelations.

Thanks.

later,
Jason

These fests always seem to attract far more entries than voters so I dont think there will be an issue there.

Do you mean far more voters than entries? :)

I remember the days with well >60 entries a fest.

The last few festivals have been dropping in numbers steadily since those days.

I thought that FictionFest would open the door again. Guess not.
Get out there and shoot something people!

Hi Larry, I just want to make sure you post the entry of my second upload. I uploaded at 4am and then just re-uploaded at 3:50pm. Just a heads up, thanks!

wow, only 19...
(that could be a good thing or a bad thing)

I bet there's solid Gold in there somewhere. Just got home from work and am super stoked about checking out the videos. I would ask when and where they would be viewable but I haven't even looked around yet, so about to do that now.

Congrats to everybody who was able to successfully submit to the fest!!

Usually I watch all the films as soon as they are posted, but i gotta work a long day tomorrow and then i see Battle Los Angeles!
But I will be viewing around 11pm Friday night. Can't wait.

I thought so too. I guess most people prefer having limitations on what they can and can't shoot.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to all the films and with only 19 (or so) entered I'm hoping I can watch and comment on them all this week-end.

Numbers have been dropping though. Last fest only had 25 at the most if I recall.

In a way it's nice. Having to watch >60 entries was a daunting task. :)

At the end of the day, even if it's only 5 entries, we'll still do these things. The fests are important, I think... whether it's 5 or 500 people involved. Sometimes the intimacy of a fest, can make for a more rewarding experience for the participants (my opnion, anyways).

That said... stay tuned... :)

Agreed. It also seems like we are seeing more polished entries overall when there are fewer in the fest.

I agree. I was just surprised there won't more taking advantage of the open-ended theme this time. The DVXfests are always a great way to get feedback on your filmmaking and work on your craft.

I think with a smaller fest it will be nice, as hopefully all the filmmakers will have a chance to check out the other films and learn from each other.

I really enjoyed watching the bts videos too.

But actually making one was hard, I hate being in front of the camera and couldn't think of anything clever to do for it. I think it was almost harder than making our film. :)

i have enjoyed watching the bts videos. What did you guys think about that requirement this time around? On set bts vid...
Doesn't work for me... I'm a one-man-band and barely had enough time to shoot the film let alone get BTS stuff...plus there's that witness protection thing.

I always thought the film threads with BTS pictures, progress reports, problems and funny stuff that happened on the set are the better option (IMHO).

I'd like to see a trailer over the BTS stuff.

I love the BTS thing this time around, it's been great to see the faces and hear their voices of the director's and crew. I think it's a strong link for the community.

This is my first fest (with no past fests as a bias), but in my opinion I liked the bts. For someone not knowing anyone it was a way to see you guys in motion, to put a personality behind the avatar.
