DVXFest - Villain Fest

Mr Glass from Unbreakable is definitely up there for me. Not to mention Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.

Of all the villains we've had over the years, so many stand out, but Snidely Whiplash comes to mind every time I hear the word villain. He's the archetype in my head...

@Chris I hope a bunch, this is a GREAT theme. You have some wicked villains in your scripts. Hope to see a few up there!

Personally, how Voldemort from the 1st Harry Potter book was portrayed was one of the best ways. Just "he who must not be named" and hearing about all the terrible things that were done when he was "alive". It was kinda a let down when they finally introduced the actual character...

John Doe from Se7en also up there for a lot of the same reasons, and Biff Tannen from BTTF, because... well it's BTTF.

damn required elements :)
I have a short that I'm having trouble finishing and it matches the theme perfectly, but doesn't have any of the required elements...
I'll need to squeeze one in somehow! @#$%$#

The rules state the short has to be produced within the time frame, so if any of your short is already shot, that means it would already be DQ'd

Sorry...

Well, well....this sound really good, really love this idea.....I will try to do my best and get my idea on paper and on tape....last time I entered was in '07 , spyfest....

cheers!

a great script is all I need....hint hint....

looking at the possibilities of entering the scifi-thriller-horror genre....I still own an hvx but I want to try one of the canons, 7D, 5D or t2i..... any advice?

there will be one long running shot, long shots, and 90% will be hand held

cheers

If you have a running shot (where YOU are running with the camera), I wouldn't suggest the DSLR's. Stick with your HVX.

Heck, if I had the option, I'd shoot the entire thing on an HVX, and i have a t2i.
