As soon as I can find some felt washers of the same diameter, I plan to add them in between the rubber washers and the spacers for added shock absorption. Pics to follow soon.
You're a DIY guy, why not just buy some felt and cut it out in the shape of a washer?

Thought about it, but the felt at the craft store is not as thick as the washers I know I can buy. Though, I could layer them...
felt that is made for cymbal stands...
I lost my carriage, part WW-16-60-10 Drylin 'W' carriage. Anyone know the latest price? Can't find it on the site. Can you still buy the carriage separately? Still have the track.
edit: $104?

What monopods are people using for end support?
I was considering buying two of these (one for each end) but I can't see any brand name.
If anyone can comment on their build quality it would be appreciated

I used a threaded conduit pipe from Home Depot with a few homemade spacers and it works great. The trick is to find something that will raise the camera height just enough so you don't see the rail.
Hello,
I am an inspired new bee and I attempted to build this type of rail for my lightweight Panasonic GH1. So far, I have ordered the following items and they all are arrived. But now I am not sure how to fix the rail on Miller Solo tripod legs and the Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging 325N does not seem like work with my Miller DS-10 fluid head on the carriage.
Please advise.
