EgoDisk sent an email out today stating that the new 256GB EgoDisk ELITE CF2 cards are available. I'm assuming they'd present the same issues that some found in the 512gb cards, and it doesn't seem worth it to pay more when the 'lesser' 256GB EgoDisk PRO CF2 cards work great. Has EgoDisk addressed the issue with the 512gb cards yet?
Really? Interesting. I have a 2 year old BMPC that can record about 108000 files to a terabyte SSD in an hour and it never misses a beat. I have a 2TB SSD for it that has never complained either.Because The c200 uses ex-fat as formatting system there is a issue with larger volumes and or cards with large amount of files.
With ex-fat the camera needs to read the entire format-table into memory to know were it is able to write new footage to.
With the 512GBcards the c200 sometimes times-out during the reading of the format-table and reports "no-card" or "no files on card" scary right?
However when you power-cycle the camera, turn it off and on again, clears the memory and usually the card registers as normal and your good to go.
It can also happen with 256cards but less likely because the camera more often has enough time/memory to process the format-table.
So our C200 came in, and my Biwin 128 GB card seems to be working totally fine. They're impossible to buy anymore, it seems (their American email won't send reply) so maybe they're manufacturing for someone else, but if you have some of those old CFast cards so far so good in terms of no buffering out or anything like that. They were meant for Blackmagic RAW so it figures.

Small warning regarding Biwin cards they can drop below the required data-rate sometimes they are fine other times you'll get a buffer-overrun error and recording will stop.
i had this with my 256GB biwin card and was able to make this visible with hdtune pro
I did 2 more runs after this and all was fine.
Real world testing in the c200 shooting the full length of the card.
1st run buffer-overrun after 18min
2nd run it recorded the full 33min
What this is telling me is I wouldn't touch those cards with the C200. I ran into the same with the SD cards, my old C100 Transcend cards worked fine for half a dozen shoots. Then gave me the buffer overrun warning in the middle of a high profile shoot. THankfully I was shooting dual cards so all was well with the shoot, I had a back up. But for CFast cards, just use the 256GB EgoDisks, they work great and are cheap.

That's great. I was just about to buy a Sony FS7 because I was frustrated with the CFast offerings for the C200, but now that Sony is selling a CFast card for the C200 I'll buy the C200 instead.Sony just announced new CFast cards that they specifically say work with the C200.
According to a press release from Sony, "As well as ultra-fast read and write speeds, the new CFast cards support VPG130 for reliable recording of Cinema-grade or high-bitrate 4K video. A minimum sustained write speed of 130MB/s is guaranteed, making the new media ideal for stable recording of professional grade 4K video, such as Cinema RAW light mode with Canon C200 video cameras."

I've always suspected these are all rebranded from one factory, perhaps this is proof? https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...tml?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.2.29746d8pd51K6
The images show Sandisk, Lexar, Wise, Atomos, and some other brands.
Has anyone tried the Freetail 256gb card? It's a little cheaper than Egodisk.
