Where can I get a small sample video clip from it ( not QT or Vimeo) just the ORIGINAL video clip as shot from the camera without ang modification like 10 seconds of it at 1080p, as I need it to see if my computer can handle it in it's software and the time it takes to encode, edit and so on. I hate to buy and then see I don't like the workflow or quality.
Yeah, I have to go and buy a class 6 card just to get a 5 second sample. Canon, are you listening ??? would anyone that is serious about the HD quality really go out and purchase it based on Vimeo sample clips? I mean can the posted samples do justice to the quality that is to be eventually be input on a 1080P large 42inch+ HD LCD screen. Those are the popular sizes now aren't they ? Those samples are on the internet and probably seen on a 20 inch monitor but the actual clip on Vimeo is 1/3 of that on the screen. How can anyone judhe HD on an equivalent area of around 30 square inches ? If I had a small .mov clip directly from the camera, I would immediately make a HD DVD and feed it on my 42 inch 1080p LCD. Now that's what I wanna see. The proof is in the pudding.

The one positive thing I am bringing is the fact that this file size limit thing may be a minor factor that is very often overlooked until the purchaser is caught in a situation that requires continuous capture. It may be insignificant to many, but very annoying and disastrous to those who find out the hard way when the camera stops after 12 minutes. No. I am not complaining, I haven't bought the camera to complain about it. I do believe that many will purchase it just for the video feature alone, at least they will know that.

Chris, I agree with you. To many it is not a problem about that file limit. But any event ( and there are too many of them) videographers like myself, that is an absolute must. The holy grail is to stop using tapes and SD quality for that matter and to travel light. The DSLR is great but it must deliver the goods. Now here is a camera that "almost" fits the bill, but leaves a seemingly insignificant feature omitted. That to me is the Achille's heel. To most others that is nothing. I would buy such a camera even at double the price, I even considered the 5D mk2 and many others. I cannot shoot a ceremony with 2 cameras, not that I can't but I do well over 70 weddings a year and synching, color consistency, timeline correction is not part of my agenda. That file limit is not the SD card characteristic at all, as I have been wrongly told, but a certain import tax thing on a full fledged video camera. Now if Canon realizes the need of all those event videographers, that's fine, Canon will sell more. I belong to a Videographer's group that all agree to what I am saying. If I was doing a movie in a controlled setting, like Hollywood, fine, I can pause between takes and breaks as most takes are less than a few minutes. In a demanding assignment like a wedding, one does not have the luxury of pausing at will. Some speeches do go over 12 minutes. One who says that it is a small thing hasn't done any weddings at all.
Chris - Great footage! I like the fact that the simple Spiderbrace and a monopod was used to help stabilize the shots. Combined with the VC from the lens it make awesome steady footage! Doing weddings you'll need a longer reach than the 24-70mm(?) lens. I heard that Sigma is coming out with the 70-200mm lens with its own version of IS. Looking forward to seeing this lens in action and hopefully at a lower price than the Canon IS lens,

Anyone use the old manual lenses on the Canons?
There are tons of Nikon manual focus lenses attached to 7Ds and 5Ds. I say go for it. You might even like it more than the newer lenses.
