No you wouldn't Sam, you'd have a focus puller.
This camera is aimed at cinema and episodic TV. Apart from a few exceptions few people use AF lenses on those types of productions.
Why are people comparing this camera to the Amira or the Alexa Mini when neither is a native 4K camera? Netflix, Amazon and others are requiring 4K origination and delivery for the content they produce, and those ARRI cameras are specifically deemed not acceptable unless given a special waiver. The C700 is a 4K camera, so it is a different beast. Compare it to the VariCamLT and the F55, but don't confuse markets. It may not make a difference for the work you do, but it certainly effects others.
I'd rather not...You can find Geoff Boyle using the C300 Mark II with Canon still AF lenses. http://www.cinematography.net/Canon C300-2 Digital Assisted Focus on a Movie.html
A few beautiful shots. Most are just OK. The dynamic range seems to be there. From the description, there is a mix of speeds and codecs.Has this been posted yet?

You are looking at specs regarding the Ursa & the Terra, both quite new at the camera making game. There have been a fair amount of issues with the Ursa (magenta, FNP) and the Terra is not really even out yet. You are referring to body pricing without looking at a fully functional price. The Ursa cannot hold a candle to the Canon low light capability which translates into big savings in lighting alone....every time you shoot. As history tells us, the Raven will be much more money once you add all the needed parts. RED has done a great job growing, learning and implementing improvements from their start with the RED 1.
When I use the word delusional, it is directed at people who are working with a DSLR budget or expectations and expect $15,000 to $50,000 camera features to be sold for DSLR prices.

However, Red Raven is from an established company (albeit with quirks at many levels) that has a comparable shooting package for about one third of the C700 price and, off the early comparisons, I (poisenally) actually prefer the Raven images. And, with Red Raw being a familiar territory for many a producer, that C700 10-bit ProRes may not cut the mustard either. You are looking at specs regarding the Ursa & the Terra, both quite new at the camera making game. .. Convergent Design has not committed to supporting C700 RAW at this time. We are not "shut out," but we have not announced support for this camera. We have a long historical relationship with Canon.Correct about Netflix. Not correct about Amazon, afaik. The blacks in the Alexa are cleaner so still the preferred choice for HDR, 4K or not.
Back to C700: Is there any RAW out anywhere that Convergent Design can use? Or did Codex get their usual exclusive deal where Convergent Design and others get shut out? Given Canon's RAW over 3G SDI strategy for monitoring 4K, I would assume Canon would try to maintain some RAW out? But Codex might have nixed it...? Mitch?
I lol'ed so hard, hahahaI'm curious what Hitler's reaction to the C700 is going to be.

I could simply not be more unimpressed by it.

C700 is billed as a 'flagship" camera, so there won't be another Canon product with better specs and lower numbers. If the 8K camera comes out, it'll be C900 or something in that vein. Maybe it'll even go up to eleven (hundred).
