Someone said the mfx is available somewhere? Do you know where i could find it by chance?
Just curious how the outside highlights were handled?
Was there ND on the windows? Or lots of light on the talent to offset outside highlights? Lots of detail in those outside highlights.
Thanks for posting!
Its been a busy weekend on this commercial. I've uploaded a few clips that we shot with the C 300. I had the opportunity to test the new Canon C300 first in Canada. Most of the testimonial based commercial was shot on the Sony F3, but we decided to shoot some of the b roll with the C 300, then on our last day we jumped in and shot the final 2 interviews with the C 300. We used Canon 16 -35L 2.8, 24-70L 2.8, 70-200L 2.8, and a Zeiss 85mm ZF 1.4 with a Nikon to EF adapter for one of the interviews. Mostly at iso 850, with one at iso 1000, in Canon log 4:2:2 50mb to CF cards.
These are the straight Canon log transferred in FCP 7, exported to h.264 and uploaded to Vimeo. I'm going to play with some grading tomorrow. Need sleep....
Also subscribed! Interested to hear about the actual use of the camera where menues, buttons, layout comes into play!
I only had the night before with the camera before we ended up using it on Sat and Sun. When the director asked if we could use it for some hand held shots to move quicker, I said yes, even though I had little time with it, and it was not really set up. We quickly changed a few settings and away we went. The camera is very intuitive. There are several ways to access the menus, from the lcd, on the camera, and on the grip. The assignable buttons are all in quick access, and once you know where they are its easy.
I liked changing the ISO, WB, iris, from the grip. Also has start/stop. We kept the camera stripped down and light, and would work off the onboard LCD, and run a feed to video village. There are a lot of options in the menus that we discovered, like having a "fine" adjustment to the iris, no more clicking. But you have to choose it. Also TC is assignable to in/out. The LCD is very sharp, and has a great waveform/vectorscope built in.
