I'm hoping for a professional version of the DVX-200 with AVC-Intra and P2.
Yes, but only with a faster lens and better color/image like the PX270.

Yeah, you'd think BMD would either figure out how to accelerate their production schedule or refrain from announcing cameras until much closer to release. But they'll probably announce a new or improved camera at NAB. I personally would like to see a DCI 4K/UHD HyperDeck Shuttle that could do DNxHR, ProRes, and raw.I like black magic color/raw but they continually have issues trying to maintain any kind of release schedule and quality control. If their working on anything new, I think it would be stupid to showcase it at NAB this year, they need to fulfill the outstanding orders, and slowly try to rebuild trust through delivering cameras that are solid performers and ready to ship. Here we are 11 months later and they've just barely begun getting ursa 4.6 to the early buyers. I understand the need to create a buzz at Nab, but I feel like their digging themselves in deeper and further tarnishing their reputation by this pattern. I can understand this happening on occasion, it even happens to the big boys from time to time. Just not every time.
I don't think BMD isn't relevant. Wich has 4:2:2 60p under 6K ( not to mention RAW)?
FS7 is like 8K nd Raven +10K.
So I think BMD sure does fill a gab. I do think they are arses because of the delaying thing and not being clear about it.
Why is the Ursa mini being compared to the Fs5 or FS7. The Ursa mini 4.6 is the cheapest of them all and shoots raw without any add on recorders. How is this less relevant.
It needs an EVF, which brings it up to the FS-7 territory and most people won't shoot 4K Raw - even the prime time TV shows don't - and, if they do, they are likely to have the means for a higher end camera anyway. Why is the Ursa mini being compared to the Fs5 or FS7. A French photo-video site had a chat with a Sony manager, who said that, if folks were impressed with Sony's product in 2015, 2016 will be a lot more impressive. That's exactly the same thing as a Canon manager said, "If you hated our product in 2015, 2016 will be even worse".
OK, the Canon dude didn't exactly say that but, if they think of catching up, they better catch up to 2017, not to 2014.
So I hope to see:
Panasonic AG-AF200
With perhaps some of the clever features in the JVC GY-LS300
(note the recent deals on the AF100 and the LS300)
Panasonic DVX200a
With deeper color recording. And maybe a little smaller
Canon C200
Priced and featured to compete with the FS5 and FS7 (but cheaper than both :happy
JVC GY-LS400 or LS300a
With in-camera image stabilization
Sony FS5a and FS7a
With in-camera stabilization and TC+Genlock that doesn't require the external recorder
BMD camera with built-in ND filters, and rugged construction
Not saying the current cam's aren't rugged, but I'd like to be sure the camera's will survive tough doc use.
What did I miss? What did I get wrong? What do you think we'll see this April?

PS. No one is stopping anyone from purchasing BMD (or Kinefinity or Digital Bolex or whatever). It's just that there aren't that many compelling reasons left other than "I like the URSA look" to buy it.
