Break-in...

Right on Jim

Those guys are no more than a couple of dead pixels on a 4k sensor.

Now is a good time to shoot sunset footage of babes on the beach.

Jim Good to hear that they didn't get anything with the sensor. They messed up big time and thank god. We'll keep our eyes out I've been checking Craigslist to see if anything RED related pops up. Sounds like everything can be replaced. Keep pushing forward and good luck. And we really do appreciate that you post here.
Don

This genius guy already has predicted evr'ything is happened "today" but in the far "04-10-2006, 12:05 AM" , we need more genius guys like him (maybe Jim can give him some money for his prophecy :) ):

Dear Emanuel, Red camera it's supposed to ship at the end of year...but the problem is that this company it's new born! It does not have resellers, nothing. It has no story.
Think about Panasonic and problems to make numerous Hvx200 cameras, it's a famous company and has lots of problem.
If Red could provide the revolution, they sure will have some problems with all others companies tryin' to stop Red.
Think about Drake camera, or Kinetta...do you remember what's happened?
Ev'ry year we've heard that somethin' of incredible will change movie's industry...but it' not happened nothing.
I believe that a bunch of companies keep a check on the market, and we know what it means.
I'm a lot skeptical about Red, the camera is achievable, but make a thing in series, and sell to wordwide...mmm...this is pure Scifi.
Think also about Guerilla35...
If the price is so competitive and quality too probably will destroy the rental market, you know what it means? Jim Jannard will have some threatening call at the phone...and ya know...people don't want die.
Killin' people for this busisness it's ordinary thing, it happens evr'yday...
We know that a Red camera is achievable, but drillin' an hole in the Jim Jannard's head it's more easy than make a new camera.
Think about it!
History repeats always itself. A man discovers a revolutionary thing, another man steals the idea and the project and become rich.
This time we have already a rich man, so maybe the things are more balanced.

Yeah, Boddington in particular is a complete ****stick. He and his cronies , Phillips & Goulder amongst them, have been DYING for RED to fail since the first announcement...It's actually even more virulent than the CML, which has been embarrasing recentiy for something that is supposedly a professional forum.

Who are these people? Are they cinematographers? Just curious....

Good to hear Jannard...
Glad they didn't get sensor data....I'm sure they got something though... I am totally convinced this was industrial espionage...as I'm sure do you. Hopefully you can get the FBI involved. I can't see stealing a prototype unless they have a buyer already, or are doing on behalf of said buyer.

You've now joined the ranks of Howard Hughes, Tucker and others who were a little too revolutionary for comfort.

That's great news! It could have been much, much worse... Good luck with forging ahead. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Glad To Hear

Glad To Hear

Watch out,Jim
This may be a sentinel event leading to something else.
Extra security, for product and Personnel is in immediate need I think.

Great to hear they didn't get any sensor info.

Thanks for keeping us in the know Jim. You have no idea how refreshing it is to have a company (and its CEO!) treat its customers and potential customers with such respect. I think that is why we all feel this theft so personally. Keep up the great work.

You have full support from us here...

If you protected all the ideas incorporated I presume there's no major loss (in case of patent theft)... Just be sure to check the place for any kind of bugs.

I guess this is the price for starting a revolution.

I presume the security is unbreachable now.

Personally, I would not take the 100K. I would take a finished camera when they are ready though. Take the balance of that 100K and dump it back into development.

Great news Jim.

And I completly back your choice to post here and dvinfo. Let's keep this development process to those that really want it to succeed. The creative process can be the most vunerable. When I'm writing a script or directing, I keep negative types a mile away. When I've allowed naysayers to tear down my pages and rough drafts in the name of "helping" me, I've tossed my screenplays in the trash out of frustration. It's the same when I direct, only those with a common vision on board. Truly helpful ideas welcome. Negativity disguised as helpful ideas are not. I'd never finish anything otherwise.

Onward.

Can we please not talk about the behavior on other forums. Talking about them just gives them unnecessary attention. Let's keep the tone positive, and move forward.

Selfless people don't boast of their selflessness, lest they be selfish for attention.
