OK so i fell out of the loop here, but i'm back with a new location.
I'm sitting here on vacation in a rustic cabin deep within the woods of New Hampshire.
I am shooting my short here this week and it is waaaay outside the box. It won't be
a contender film (as if) but it will be fun and, I think, a very original entry in style and tone.
Updates will be happening all week as we shoot here, stills coming soon...

The location isn't better, that first location is money. But this location is more woodsy and is still great. It's all how I use the location, which I'm working on now.
 
UPDATED: 2/3 of my short has been shot. Screen grabs coming soon. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be non-compete because i think my run time is looking like 8-10 mins.

My short is a weird combo of western meets early 80's mind-power movies (the fury, scanners, firestarter etc.)
 
you're right i can :) but i can assure you Jason that i wouldn't be a contender anyhow, so voting or not, i'm not sure it matters. but i'll work towards a 6 min cut.

I don't know... it looks like it's a small field of films this time. Wouldn't you hate to realize too late that you might have been a contender if you'd had a 6 min cut?

Mike i totally cheated for these grabs, i just gently cc-ed them in photoshop with curves. I boosted contrast via "S" curve while maintaining highlights, and then i pushed the hue green a little bit which I do for most movies I make.

Now I have to go into COLOR and get my hands dirty grading these for real.
