There's a number of them headed to www.amazon.com right now. I don't know if Canadian owners will be able to order from there or not, but -- if you've been able to order books from amazon.com before, then you should be able to get this one too.

FYI I have a amazon account but they will not ship this book to Canada

Same experience - I had to order the book from the UK

I will talk to Panasonic Canada, see if they can fit this into their pricing - you are seriously disadvantaged as a new buyer of the 130a or 160a if you don't have Barry's book

Hey Barry Can you make a Deal with B&H as they carry lot of your books and they Deliver to Canada.

Well cripes, UPS has twice tried to make delivery, but for some reason they are insisting on "in person" signature. It's going back to the sender, my wife waited until 2:00 for it, they still had not arrived, but when I got home the ups info notice was on the door. Sorry.

It will be the same for me also unless I can convince UPS to send to my work address. I assumed it would be regular mail because it will fit in a mailbox. I work during the day like most people

Called UPS, according to them you can sign up for "UPS My Choice" and change the sig requirement, it will allow you to sign for the package online. You can also change the shipping address but there is a fee for that.

Thanks, I'm too late, they made third and final delivery attempt yesterday. The driver wrote "in person" in bold on the delivery ticket, wrote void on the signature line on the back. Moron.

Now UPS is telling me they won't release due to the senders requirement for an adult signature. looks like no book for me.

There shouldn't be any requirement for "adult signature", they're all shipped with the standard "signature required" release, which means you should be able to sign for it. PM with your name & details and I'll see if I can figure out what happened.

Their "My Choice" seems to be a bit broken, The adult sig requirment was in their email response after I pre-signed online and the package wasn't delivered. After some time on the phone this morning they now say no adult signature is required and delivery should be today.

Barry's book was enclosed with the AG-AC90's packaging that I received on March 12th. I ordered my AC90 from willoughbys.com. So much great and needed information in the book. Since I'm a first-time owner of a pro camcorder, Barry's book along with the advanced user manual that came with the AC90, has definitely helped me in learning about not only the AC90, but other important techniques and aspects of capturing good video. Thank you very much Barry!

i received the book, it is a good read and i still wonder why panasonic doesn't make this available as a download. it explains all settings in much better detail.

however, even if it is 'the definitive guide' there is no mention about my greatest riddle: what does focus "macro range" do? why is it there, what consequences does it have?

many of my subjects (people being interviewed) are at the very distance when the camera switches from and to 'macro', why does it do that, should i worry about this?

???

The macro range is nothing to "worry" about. It works like this: the closest the lens can focus, when at full telephoto Z99, is MF40. If you zoom out, you can focus closer, using the "macro range.". When you're zoomed all the way out to Z00, you can focus as close as MF00. In fact you can focus down to MF00 anywhere between Z00 to Z67. But once you go past Z67, the lens can't focus that close anymore. At Z68, the closest you can go is MF01. At Z70 you can't focus closer than MF07. By Z83, the closest you can focus is MF30, etc.

So as long as you can focus, you have no problem. You just may or may not be able to hold focus if you zoom further in; if the MF number changes as you zoom in, then that means it isn't able to focus that close.
