Ask Sci-fest Voting And Viewing Questions Here

Hey Barry,

Sorry for the (triple?) post about this, but just now realized we were supposed to complain in here. Yeah, The Man From Hollywood has some glitches... help, please :-D :-D

Thanks!

Does anyone know why when watching the wmv the black is not black?
i think it has to do with the graphic card acceleration in pcs, but i cannot remove that option.

Yeah, I hate that about wmv's, although someone told me that mov's on mac's do the same thing, which is kind of strange.

A lot depends on how the monitor is set up. I did gamma stuff to mine to get it almost NTSC-calibrated. Things look fine. (and my non-cal'd LCD monitors seem to do it well, even without going throught tha calibration.)

How come Hiro's synthetic love has the huge sorenson watermark all over the movie? Its very distracting.

I tried redownloading some because some videos downloaded improperly, and I happened to download hiro's movie twice, and now none of my players can play it.....

I had the same problem as well. I'm hoping it gets fixed though.

Some of the movies were up for download, and now they're not -- I assume "technical difficulties" are being worked out...

I know I speak for everyone here that we cant thank you enough for all of this. I hope we dont seem impatient with the encoding problems.

LOL. No problem. The way we're doing things is plan B. We had a whole new system planned, but it didn't quite work out so we were scrambling to get everything up. We could have held things up for a few days of QC, but everyone was ready to torch the village. :)

Seems that way Barry - we kinda figured... I'm sure it's not easy to scramble to get things up.

BTW, I noticed files were going up alphabetically originally, but now, not so much... is there a method? (I saw macgregor's go up, and then lucitzs, which is why I ask)...

i ask about the alphabetized version as well because my entry would have been uploaded already. did mine have any problems? or its just coming in out of order?

thanks again Barry. sorry for the impatience...

Plan "B" Seems like it will work well minus a few early hiccups - and its probably the simplest of all three deivery modes (zombie, scifi plan "A", and scifi plan "B")

Poor Barred (barry + jarred). Thanks for sticking it out and coming up with plan "B"

Definately. Thanks guys. Oh yeah, and thanks for not burning my house down after all the PMs I sent wondering if our movie was fixed or not.

They must have the patience of a lynx.
