Baked in LUTs have not been tabled, but I cannot say when they will be enabled.

Dual-HD Recording is a new feature included in the Odyssey RAW Bundle. It allows recording of two HD 4:2:2 video signals in Apple ProRes. It is not for RAW->ProRes and it is not for 4:4:4.

The two HD signals must match in frame rate and resolution. Pick one of the two to be the "Master" to originate the timecode and control record trigger. You don't have to do this -- both timecode and trigger can originate on the Odyssey but the two recordings will share matching timecode and they will start and stop together. Unlike Apollo, recording requires two SSDs - Input A into SSD 1 and Input B into SSD 2.

Monitoring of the two signals is identical to the Dual-HD Monitoring mode that you have all had since last summer but few seem to realize. :) The two images can be viewed Side-by-Side, Over-Under or Picture-in-Picture. Or you can view either individually while the other records in the background.

Frame rates available are
1080p 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30
1080i 50, 59.94, 60
720p 50, 59.94, 60

1080p 50-60 is reserved for Apollo. There is also no switching in Dual-HD as this too is reserved for Apollo. If you wish to have these and many other very nice features you can buy or rent the Apollo Option for your Odyssey.

There is a Known Issues list as always which should be included in the full Release Notes. These should be available for download on the website and I believe are included in the download packet with the new firmware. I know a glitch caused the new manual to be delayed, but I think that's been addressed now. The complete Release Notes are included within the manual, that wonderfully long and detailed document I rewrite with each update knowing full well that hardly anyone will ever read it!

Thanks Mitch.

I can't seem to find the list in the release notes here or in the C-D pdf one can download from your website. The new manual isn't online yet either, only version 2016.01. If you could just post the list and add it to the release notes on the first page of this thread, that would be great!

Also, the power-on time got greatly improved - at least that's what it feels like...
 
I must be just brain dead but I'll ask anyway because I'm not having any luck...

I sold my FS700 and bought a FS7 (currently ver3 firmware) I DO NOT have the XDCA adapter. Can still record ANY version of 4K to my Odyssey 7Q?
I downloaded the new CD update 2016.6 today (no problems with the install)
I have hdmi cable from FS7 to 7Q and can get a signal IF I set the camera to "SONY" (not Sony FS7) 1920x1080 (so I assume the cable/hdmi connections is good)
If I set it the 7Q to Sony FS7, Cam set to 1920 x 1080 and then set the 7Q to HD-HD prores, I get a signal.

I take it from the results I'm getting that the FS7 can't record 4K or UHD to the 7Q without the XDCA? (hdmi or SDI)

Am I doing something wrong , settings wise?

Anytime I set the hdmi output on the cam to anything other than 1920x1080 the 7Q says "No Input"


EDIT someone just mentioned I need a 7Q "+" to record 4K ??? that true?

Yes, I would think you need the 7Q+ to record 4k from any camera that only outputs 4k via HDMI... that or RAW through the XDCA as you mentioned.

Other option is a UHD HDMI to SDI converter box

You need an Odyssey7Q+ to record 4K via HDMI. That's why we moved from the 7Q to the 7Q+.

You can use an AJA HA5-4K mini-converter between the FS7 and the Odyssey7Q and this will allow you to capture up to 4K60p.
 
When can we expect a release of the Edit Decision List functionality promised for early 2016 in the Apollo firmware? I installed the latest firmware, but the XML files it saves still seem to be devoid of useful data.

Waited aprox 7 minutes before pulling the plug.
Rebooted the unit - reformatted the sad - recopied the FW all good - to note - it seems the unit did hold the update during the white screen as it updated Odyssey2016.06.1431 to Odyssey2016.06.1431

Interesting, I also only have the 7Q and lament my inability to get 4k out of my a7rii. Would this same AJA product work for these cameras?
On second thought...ouch, just saw how much those things cost. $600 might not be the trade-off I was looking for :\

Should this happen to anyone else, just keep on updating. The entire process for an Odyssey7Q/7Q+ update takes close to an hour at this point (so many features!), so let that hour run its course and then ad another 10-15 minutes to be safe. They cycle power and you should be all set.

It will work, but that's the price you pay.
