7d clips

of course Perpignan is this week, I was even supposed to be there. Canon targeted this release to this huge event

Why is it that when people get their hands on an unreleased camera, they never shoot anything decent. I don't care if they are photographers, cinematograhers, or novices, give us five minutes of footage that at least tests things like rolling shutter (jello) and other concerns. I may be ranting like a *****, but I think it's due to the fact that I was going to pay the deposit for my GH1 tomorrow, and then the 7D info hit the web. It's all so f$%king frustrating!

looks/is pro with a mattebox, external LCD, rods and follow focus.

In a very not too distant future it will be very sexy to be shooting film with the latest VDSLR. It will be the IN THING. Everybody from the top down will want to be seeing with one of those. It is in human nature first to resist to a new trend then not wanting to be left out of the latest trend. The people complaining about form factor, not being professional looking, blah, blah, blah, will start swallowing their words pretty soon. Motion pictures, tv series, music videos, commercials at the highest levels will be done with these cameras. Mark my words in your calendar.

I was gonna buy the 7D...until I saw that woman's snaggle tooth. Man, I thought she was attractive up until then.

It might be a camera flaw. Maybe "jello", the result of rolling shutter? Where are the "experts" to figure it out for us?

I'm a pixel hunting expert. Send me to Venice with the cam and girl I will investigate more closely.

I promise to report back to this thread with my findings.

John where have you been? it already is the "in thing". The uber cool and slightly crazy are shooting "digital cinema" with DSLRs. Video is dead, jump on the DSLR wagon or go the way of the dinosaur.
