2010 vampire short

Every location so far has been in either Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan. I've really had to search to
find the right stone work, the right wall, the right gate ... etc.
And the right time of day when no one is there.
Looks like that effort is paying off. It's looking real sweet.

as I just mentioned in another thread, this project has gained the title

A Strange Confession

99% likely this will be final

cross thread reply Fahad so I can keep your thread on topic

it's ****ing crazy, man.

btw, i've read your thread about the vampire short and how 'Let The Right One In' influenced it, and then your recommendation and others of that film.

my comment on vampire movies only applies to those which i have seen, or heard about and chose not to see. i generally avoid the vampire-branded movies for fear of them being the same old same old.

so yeah, i'll definitely check it out.

I'm one to avoid the cliche at all costs.

Here's a clue ... no blood shots in my vampire film. Everything implied not shown.

edit:

Nice man...

When the editing starts?

started, now working with Gregory Bakay and Van Zeng on music (both are dvxuser's)
can't wait to see this!
looking real sweet!
Love this shot , nice gradient !
Looking real sweet man. Loving how this is coming along. Love it even more that you are getting it finished.
Cool. :)
Congrats, looking forward to seeing it!
really liking the composition and color of those screen grabs. locations look great, too!
Looks like that effort is paying off. It's looking real sweet.

thanks !

Thanks Pietro. This is not the final trailer - thankfully vimeo lets you swap the vid and keep the link.
(This was uploaded as I need to establish that link to send out)

Aspect ratio I uploaded was 1280x535 and vimeo added a 1px grey rule underneath – another thing I need to fix! (throws hands in air)

Thanks very much, J Davis.

It is a lot fun working with J Davis and Gregory.
J.Davis is a very open-minded director. I can discuss with him easily. He's talented in Cinematography. I really like his film's pictures. And his musical background made us communicating much easier.
Gregory is very creative composer. He knows what a director wants, and would exactly catch the feeling from an audience's perspective and then enhance it musically.
You guys will understand what I am talking about when you watch the film "A Strange Confession".

At latst, I'm looking forwards to working with you guys again.

@Van:
Thank you for your kind words!

It was a really great and successful collaboration with you and Jhoe. Jhoe had the vision and we did our best to serve his visions with our music and enhance it to a higher level.

I'm proud that I was part of this team and could work with all of you. I hope too that we can work together in the future again.

Your sincerely:
Gregory Bakay

Thanks for all the interest and support. A Strange Confession is being submitted to a bunch of festivals and if we are lucky enough to get any screenings I will be posting date & times in this thread.

Some really good news is that I negotiated a new media amendment to my SAG short film contract which means the film goes to youtube and vimeo after we are done with festivals.

Shout outs for my actors !

Day for night with nikon ais 50mm 1.4 at f2 iso 800 (taken facing west just after sunset)

Just checking if there's something new here.

Are you grading this day for night a little further? Still looks like just after sunset.

Pietro, I finally understand and I've been bitten by the snow leopard gamma shift.
You see when I look at this image with snow leopard it looks totally different than
when looking at it on a PC or with old leopard or tiger OSx.

PC's and older versions of osx have gamma that matches TV's and the switched it.
