I'm surprised I haven't seen any 2nd hand 1DC for sale in ages. The day they go cheaper I'd like to get one. :D

Do you know the current price of 1D C in China? it's about 9800USD! and it's brand new/with full local warranty. it's just insane how the price drops over time.

I may end up selling mine as it's finding itself sitting more than in use. But for the time being i'm trying to hang onto it. Check in with me after April and I may be selling it.

Curious what most of you guys are doing for Viewfinders? I was borrowing a Zacuto Pro EVF from a friend but want to try and run it a bit smaller. Can you just use the basic EVF from Zacuto with the body being taller?
I am modifying a Cineroid Retina. I think most EVF's today are not great. The Cineroid is going in the right direction, but looks like an cheap army toy from the 1980's (EDIT: it is actually very strong, just looks strange. But in practice, once a camera is rigged up, you may hardly notice. ) My mod will make it smaller, weather proof, cable connections in the right place, and better looking.

There really isn't anything all that great (they're not that bad either) out there for 4k shooting. The new Sony EVF's seem nice, but are just for Sony(?). I wish they would make these things smaller and lighter.... and weather proof!

Thanks.

Ended up just going with the standard VF from Zacuto. Curious to see how well it works. Used it on a 7D back in the day.

it's neither available online nor in Canon stores, you'll have to call the authorised reseller in Beijing to order an unit.

I bought mine there for about 9980USD with free next day delivery
You bought another one?

Sorry to here that.
It's getting resolved. A part was missing apparently.

On a side note here is a sample of a few lock-offs I was able to get at an off road race:

I was on a Gimbal but was able to push the button before jumping over to my position for the shot I had to get. This was more of a back-up angle but I'm still impressed with the quality.

Looks great. 1DC loves some desert light. I like how the 1DC has a unique look. I am liking it more and more. just shooting too much lowlight these days. Haha. Not my choice, but finding myself in iso 3200/6400 territory too often. Fun though, that it is actually still good looking.

so Canon just announced a series of firmware updates for Cinema EOS line, but 1D C was left out for some reason...

Getting ready to shoot a bunch at 1080 60p for some skiing in Utah. Any good tips for post process and sharpening the footage? I seem to read quite a bit about that being a necessity.

Shoot in Canon Log, make sure to use ISO400 or above. Sharpen with radius of about 0.3-0.5 with amount of about 150-250. If you have Dark Energy for AE and Film Convert Pro that would be even better, denoise and regrain, voila, you have a very organic image similar to a smooth but not soft 35mm film scan.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips!

Hey Guys, I have a unique opportunity to travel to India for awhile to produce something i've been trying to put together for awhile. I'd love to hold onto the camera if I can, but to make it happen I may have to sell my 1DC. It has very low hours and shutter use. Any interest?

PM MacGregor, from the f35 forum. He may take it, if the price is right.

Wish I could go to India with you guys. I already have my multi-entry visa.
