The reason being is I have easy access to a HVX, but certain shots I wanted with the "shallow DOF", I shot with the 7D.
I've heard people mixing 7D & T2i footage with their HVX200 or 300 footage before, but can you notice any real difference?

I've heard people mixing 5D & 7D footage with their HVX200 or 300 footage before, but can anyone elaborate on the process? Or does anyone disagree with this?
I believe I have to transcode the 5D/7D footage to ProRes, then bring it into FCP. So, what do I do next?
Just bring it onto the...
I am in need of a someone who can do some basic audio sweetening on my short & 1 min commercial spots. Just some basic stereo sound, etc.
I had someone who was going to do it for $100, but left for a NY gig.
Let me know if anyone is interested and if it all works out, then you will be my guy...

I shot in 720 24p with a HVX200 at a club with low light issues. Now, that I'm editing it...I was wondering what are the ways of getting rid or correcting some of this "low light grain".
Can I do it in FCP OR do I have to use "plug ins" to do this?
If so, what are the best plug ins to use...
To add V.O. to a Documentary...is there any "consumer mic" at Best Buy or Circuit City that you can buy to do a "decent" job....OR
...do we need to have a "professional mic"?
I remember one filmmaker telling me they did V.O. at their house as long as everything was isolated from ambient...

I shot once on a HVX and I asked my D.P. if I can shoot some shots with the 35mm adaptor AND some shots without the 35mm adaptor.
The D.P. told me you can tell right away the difference and he suggested to shoot with the 35mm adaptor ONLY.
My question is....

I'm designed my DVD cover, but for my "Title" on my front cover is small.
I used the Text Tool and typed up the title with the biggest font 72p, but I want to make it bigger.
Isn't there a way just to select it, then "drag" it bigger? It's probably something really simple and right under my...
I know that Lowell light kits (Totas, DP, Omni, etc) are usually used for interviews & still photography, but can you get away using a light kit like this for DV filmmaking?
I know how Robert Rodriquez used Photofloods for his first feature, so I assume Lowell light kits should be better than...
Has anyone used the Glidecam 4000 with an HVX200 (or equivalent size camcorder) with the 35mm adaptors and lenses? I have a Glidecam and am looking on getting the Body Pod too, but before I purchase...I want to make sure I can shoot good steadicam shots using this.
This question was probably answered already somewhere, but I need to ask.
I've read on websites that the Glidecam 4000 can hold up to 10lbs and can hold the XL2 and the DVX camcorders. So, I assume it can hold the HVX.
BUT...
...can it hold with the 35mm adaptors, lenses, etc added?
Has...

Does anyone know which companies allow renting out 35mm adapters for a weekend or so...?
If they all do, does anyone have any recommendations which are the best packages?
Plus, is there a thread out there with more info on this?
Thanks
Hello,
I finally made my decision to get the HVX200 when I started seeing threads talking about the Canon A1 coming out soon for less money.
I know that this is a DVX user forum, BUT can someone elaborate on this NEW Canon HD camera?
Is this going to be better or just as good as the...
I've been reading throughout the forums that with ALL 35mm adapters, you lose light.
I just started looking at the screen grabs of the HVX and the picture looked awesome with the 35mm adapters. I was wondering, if you use 35mm adapters on the HVX...
...do you lose light also? Or because it's...
I will be shooting an upcoming short that's in pre-development and in need of a D.P. Needs to have experience in getting that "film look", D.O.F., lighting, etc., in order to present this in future Film Festivals.
I have experience working on all aspects of film production, but connections I...
I tried reading a lot of threads because I didn't want to repeat any topics, but I couldn't find the answer.
I saw a few members talk about how they made their own 35mm adapters. Can someone explain how to do this or foward me a "past thread" with this info?
Is it hard to build? Is there any...
