Hi,
as I do lots of handheld shooting lately, I like the idea of getting a gimbal for the EVA1.
I know that there's the Ronin and other Pro Gimbals in a similar range, but the EVA can be stripped down so quickly.
With less than 2kg it should be possible to handle it with a single handed...
Hi,
as I was filming in really rough conditions lately, I asked myself if there's already experience with Rain Covers for our EVA1.
I have seen one from Camrade:
https://www.camrade.com/products/protection/raincovers/wetsuit-au-eva1#description
and one from Portabrace...
Hi,
I found quite some Info on V-Log here:
http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/varicam/35/dl.html
But as this is for the Vaicam I wonder if these values are also valid for the EVA1.
Ultimately, I need the clipping value for setting the zebra according.
The Wihte Papaer from 2014 (!) says clipping...
Panasonic today announced a firmware fix for some issues:
Ver. 1.10-
Improvement
1) When the HDMI output is connected to BT-LH1850 monitor and displayed on it, once the monitor’s input setting is switched to SDI, "No Signal" is shown and no image will be displayed any more even if the setting...
Hi,
I purchased the EVA1 yesterday and while I already have batteries (2x IDX SL-VBD96) and storage (2x Sandisk SDXC Extreme Pro 128GB, 300 MB/s), I'm still evaluating lens choice.
I have used the Canon EF-s 17-55/2,8 IS for several years for my documentaries as my goto lens and like it more...
As I said. The 24-105 is not the best option for critical production.
But I have used it for 100 hrs of footage on my FS100 with the Speedbooster and the footage was always fine.
Because of its tendency to flare, I built the following (extremem lightweight) setup:
Lately, I...
If the problem is only related to sensor overexposure, why is it I haven't recognized it.
This was from my very 1st test, where I stressed the camera to the max:
100%
Shot in cineEI (S-Gamut3.cine/SLog3) @800ISO
QFHD/25p XAVC-I @250MBit
1/50s
Canon EF-S 17-55 @55mm+f4.8
I think the...
In the end, SLog3 on the FS7/F5/F55 doesn't use the whole range.
If Sony did it for future proof cameras with even more DR or if they
had something different in mind - nobody really knows.
SLog3 is abolutely not made for 8bit recording. The 10bit
XAVC is at least needed to get the best out of...
Guys,
I used 5-6 different 24-105s within the last years.
All of them flare easily. That's the weak point of the long focal
range and the relatively wide end while maintaining an f4 throughout the
whole range at the same time.
As far as I know, Canon never changed the optical formula and the...
Here's what cineEI + LC709A LUT in post brings out easily.
I put a slight Fuji look via filmconvert on top. But this kind
of workflow is so fast! All clips get the Sony LC709A LUT
as input look (2 clicks), then I put the fimconvert look on top
for the whole timeline (5 clicks with adjusting WB +...
Your findings are different to mine.
With the G-Crads and the new reader I have
offloading speeds up to 350 MB/s which is much faster than
with the S-Cards.
Write speed is surprisingly low at 170 MB/s.
The speed will highly depend on the computer you use and on
the file size as well.
As the...
I have to apologize, the original footage seems to be WB'd way off...
original SLog3 footage:
I put the SGamut3.cine/SLog3 to LC_709_TypeA LUT from Sony on it and realized how much off this is.
I don't know if SGamut3.cine was used too. Maybe that's the issue here?
Then I made a...
Hi,
as we all know, we have several threads going on.
But this is one of the biggest drawbacks for me.
Why can't I use the waveform/histo while using a MLUT
on the viewfinder?
This is ridiculous as this will be the mode I'm going to use most of the time.
Without waveform/histogram it's pretty...
Hi,
the FS7 uses the latest Sony technology to exclude "wrong" batterie use.
Therefore 3rd party batteries don't work when attached to the batterie slot.
You have to use the DC in with a D-Tap from the battery.
I want to use 3rd party batteries with separate outputs for external display
and/or...
How can anybody give useful hints here?
We need to know:
-what kind of film this will be
-how does the rest of the film look like
-what is the key function of this particular scene (dramatically)
-who's the main character here
-what's your budget
-how many lightning technicians will have how...
I got it worked.
1) Make the colour adjustments (or don't)
2) go to the "Browse" tab
3) select the clips you want to transcode
4) choose codec and if the colour adjustments/LUTs will be active (no ProRes on win - only OS X)
5) transcode
The last weeks I was doing research for colour processing.
As I always love, how the Arri Alexa is able to bring out especially
skin tones, I found this very interesting article:
http://www.dvinfo.net/article/post/making-the-sony-f55-look-filmic-with-resolve-9.html
Okay, Art Adams was looking...
