It's a large market, and I'm asking for you still photogs input. So far I've looked at the Nikon D-80 and D-90 and the Canon Rebel. What would you recommend. I think the D-90 looks good, but is it really worth the extra $? Any help would be greatly appreciated. So if you were to buy a new...

Should it take 48 hours to render an 2 hour MPEG-2 using Compressor? I just finished a concert DVD. The concert ended up cutting to about 2 hours in length. I rendered out of FCP using Compressor, with a 6.0 Average MBPS, 7.5 Max. I have a MacBook Pro with the intel dual core. 1 gb of...

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/falcons/2007-07-18-vick-cover_N.htm I'm sorry, but I just can't tell you how disgusted I am by the charges brought against Michael Vick in regards to illegal dogfighting. For those of you who don't know, there is an indictment against Vick for...

Have you guys seen this? Sorry if this has already been posted, but yikes. I cannot wait for the new Batman. The Joker looks sick. That's Heath Ledger under there for those of you who don't know. That's one crazy looking mofo.

Lou Pearlman, the brain behind The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, LFO, O-Town, etc. etc. has apparently managed to con over 1400 investors and the city of Orlando out of close to 500 MILLION dollars. You heard right. This is incredible. Check it out. No formal charges have been brought against...

Hey guys, Anyone here know anything about Lipstick Cameras, i.e. the best brands, models, placement, etc.??? To direct this question more, I'm working on a project that will require someone to go undercover with a lipstick camera. Money isn't much of an object. Right now we're...

"300" is making some people mad apparently. Don't let this turn into a crazy political thread, but have you guys seen this? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258727,00.html Your thoughts....

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809233736/trailer http://imdb.com/title/tt0448134/ Any Danny Boyle fans out there? I'm really excited for this. Boyle is definately one of my favorite modern directors. I can't wait to see what he does with a Sci-Fi epic, which is what this looks like it will...

I want to begin by saying I love this show. I wanted to start this thread to see who else watches this show, and what they think of it. In particular, I'd like to discuss the cinematography. The way they light characters is very unique IMO. They're not afraid to keep a character in shadows...

Anyone know how to creat a 2.35 Quicktime Movie (i.e. sans the black bars)? I've got FCP, Compressor, and QT Pro at my disposal. I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

I got a job in downtown Bethesda, MD and am going to move in the next 3 weeks. Any DVXUser's in the D.C./Maryland area? Got any tips on good places to live, etc.? I'm looking at places around Adams Morgan, Silver Spring, Bethesda, etc. I'd like to stay inside the beltway. I'd like to be in...

For anyone who'd care to answer. I'm standing at a major crossroads right now, and can't seem to make a decision. I've been offered an entry level position as a PA, working with a long running nationally televised TV show, based on the east coast (D.C. area). I'm a recent college grad...

Double post (also in cinematography forum), but thought I might come here as well. If I'm doing a multi camera concert shoot with 2 DVX's and an FX1, can I expect that, with the DVX's shooting 24P, they'll match up fairly close with the FX1 shooting with the Cineframe24 setting (standard DV)...
