Cineframe24 & DVX 24P Combined

They Live

Double post (also in cinematography forum), but thought I might come here as well. If I'm doing a multi camera concert shoot with 2 DVX's and an FX1, can I expect that, with the DVX's shooting 24P, they'll match up fairly close with the FX1 shooting with the Cineframe24 setting (standard DV). Anyone here have any experience with this?

Thanks
Ben

Not really. CF24 in my experience is too jittery. It uses a different pull down where only two frames are deinterlaced progressive and the remaining are still interlaced. If the pulldown is properly interpreted and removed (most NLE can't do this), it looks better, but it still won't be like 24p.

If you're shooting events I would use 60i on all cam or 30p on the DVX and CF30 on the FX1.
