What does one use for looking at footage in the editing process and for color correction.
What should I be looking for? A monitor, LCD, TV?
Thx

Seems like I'm getting a lot of dropouts. No red x though but playing back footage there is just way too many dropouts.
What should I do? Where do I send the camera? A DVX 100A?
Thanks
Well I just recently switched over to a MAC G5 Dual Core 2.3 machine. With an added sata 2 internal drive to capture to.
Upon starting the capture process I am running into errors that frop me out of capture. "breaks in vfr/pulldown cadence were detected." Once that happens I can't capture. I...
I had somewhere found that my 100a was manually focused at infinity at 93.
I recently saw someone who said it was 97.
What is the the best setting for manual focus infinity for the 100a?
Very randomly when shooting I get... usually a frame sometimes two consecutively where there is some pixelization. Maybe a dozen or so random pixels that are wrong and show up when the video is run back as blips or distortions. Are these dropouts?
As I said it's random but I can count on this...
I noticed that lavalier's pick up lots of clothing sounds, jewelry noises, etc when I do interviews. What are some preventive measures I can take to make sure I don't have this problem ?
Panning seems to be one of the things I have the most difficulty doing. I can't seem to get a smooth pan. What can I do to get better? And is there anything I can do in post to correct jerky pans?
why doesn't widescreen footage look like letterbox in a 4 x 3 tv? Is there any way to encode those instructions in the DVD. It always comes up full screen, and stretched at this point. Is this just the way it is?
If you shoot squeeze mode how does it look on a 4 x 3 tv DVD? Will it look stretched? Does it try to fill up the whole screen?
And letterbox, what happens when you have a letterboxed dvd? How does it look on a widescreen tv?
When using the Anamorphic Adapter are you able to use any of the conventional screw in filters? Like the UV for instance or does that have to come off?
When using the Anamorphic Adapter what happens to the camera lens hood?
I was reading Barry Green's FAQ over on 2-Pop regarding the Anamorphic...
How does OIS work? Is it recommended for handheld footage? Or with the DVRIGPRO? Does it degrade footage quality?
Should I use it when not using a tripod?
Pros ..........Cons?
I have read some comments about EVF and also seen the term "peaking feature" used when describing the 100a.
What is the peaking feature? How does it work?
I also found a link to a focus scale on Adam Wilts site. Looks like it was for the dvx-100 though. It only goes to 93.
Has anyone seen one...
I notice that the color bars aren't quite accurate in the LCD. Perhaps a bit too bright? Can this be calibrated, should it be? Is it something to worry about?
I generally calibrate a monitor in the field for indoor shoots, but outside depend on the LCD for lighting and exposure.
Any comments...
