I recorded a chorus concert about a week ago. The sound was run through a board and recorded to a dedicated CD burner. I got the songs from the first CD onto my computer with no problem, but the second one isn't cooperating.
When I insert the CD into my Mac, it just spits it back out. I tried...
I've tried exporting a wedding to my external hard drive 7 or 8 times and keep ending up with errors. Now it won't even begin to export and gives me a file I/O error. Anybody know what this means? I'm just exporting as quicktime movie since I'm just burning it in iDVD afterwards. Any suggestions...

I bought this DVD several weeks ago, right before I started shooting a film, and it is certainly worth the money. I learned a good bit from it, but now I've gotten my use from it and need to pass it on to someone else. Just PM me with offers.
I just noticed that I joined dvxuser two years ago, today. I like to think of myself as being self-taught, but really, dvxuser has taught be everything I know. I wouldn't be half the filmmaker I am without this site. Thanks guys.
Tomorrow I start as DP on my first film. Any advice for my first...
I'll be filming a high school chorus concert in about a month and selling DVD and CD copies of the performance to the parents and students. Since it's retail, will I need to obtain the rights to the songs? If so, how would I go about that? I'll probably produce 40-50 DVDs and 20-30 CDs. I...
I filmed a wedding a little while ago and I'm trying to capture the footage. It was recorded with my hv20 and a gl2. The tapes from my hv20 captured fine, but the gl2 tapes won't even show up on the capture screen. They play fine in my hv20, but when I try to capture in vegas, it gives a message...

College is almost over and it's time to actually find something to do with my life. I'm trying to break into the movie/tv biz, so I'm thinking about moving to Wilmington, NC sometime around August. It's not too far to relocate (from Clemson, SC) and the cost of living is nothing like LA.

I'm currently working on a video for the radio station at my university. We'll need about 200 copies of the finished product on DVD. Last year we went through a local company to get them made (for about $700), but I searched around and found this...
I need a new camcorder since my old one broke. It's between the two of these. I mostly shoot video shorts and stunts (I move the camera a lot, so I want something small and easy to run with). I'm also looking into doing some friends weddings. I was thinking that the tapeless design of the HG10...
I'm trying to make a cheesy video of some guys singing and I want to have the lyrics at the bottom with a ball bouncing across them like in old Barney and Sesame Street shows. I also want to make the ball into a small image instead. Is there an easy way to do that in Final Cut, or am I better...
why's the stuff on here so cheap? i'd certainly like to get an hv20 for 499, but that price just doesn't sound legitimate. anybody know about this site?
