How do I make a bouncing word sing-along

I'm trying to make a cheesy video of some guys singing and I want to have the lyrics at the bottom with a ball bouncing across them like in old Barney and Sesame Street shows. I also want to make the ball into a small image instead. Is there an easy way to do that in Final Cut, or am I better off just doing something simple with Livetype?

Take the image you want and use keyframes in FCP to animate it to the music. Not hard, really, but probably tedious.
