So...
I went ahead and got myself a MicroBeam 256 from FloLight. Hadn't read anything bad about it, so I though what the heck.
Turns out it's actually a nice little powerful LED for the price... BUT.
The first night I tried it out on a test shoot, the sheer weight of the battery (NP-F attached...
I know... there's a setting for every scene in every movie. But nevertheless, how light would you let yourself go for a piece of fictional work? Could you get away with say 1 fresnel and a bounce card? Could you let yourself get away with two work lights through a bedsheet. What's the minimum...
Well... Apart from the obvious where the talent in fact stands still for a lengthy periode of time, is there any way to fake this? In think the lenght of the clip should be around 3-5 seconds, but the background should span across several hours, from late afternoon to beginning night. The talent...
Ive done a bit of googling but couldn't find anything on it.
I need a body mount for some shots where the camera is facing the talent and following her moves. Is the only way to create something myself or has this already been made as a ready to use product?

We build a lot of these for our still photography studio. We used roll diffusion and the frames are made from wooden rails. The contruction itself is just under 4' wide and how ever tall you want it to be.
It can definately be done better, but here they never leave the studio or even the setup...
I already have a 330w FloLight soft lamp, an 800w ArriLite and two Bowens flash units that can act as 250w open face tungstens so
basically I'm about to buy:
1k FilmGear fresnel
2 x FilmGear 650w fresnel
I was going to get a 300 instead of one of the 650s but then I thought that I might as...
I just stumbled over this article:
http://beta.techradar.com/news/photography-video-capture/cameras/samyang-to-produce-sony-e-mount-af-lenses-1069889
Apparently Samyang has confirmed that they are moving on from their MF lenses and working on AF lenses, including ones with E-mount. I know a...
I know most of you guys probably recide in the US, but in case anyone needs to do a job in the Copenhagen area, I'll pass on the following link:
www.omnifilm.dk
We currently stock a 5D mkII, a FS100 and some decent mics and a FloLight 330w with daylight lamps. More will be coming later...
Heya
I'm about to pull the trigger on the 330w FloLight, since Cool Lights don't have European distributers.
But I'm wondering wether I can put the higher cri lamps from Kino Flo in the FloLight fixture of the 330w. I've spent quite an amount of time trying to find specifications wether or not...
Heya, recently my Steadicam Pilot monitor took a blow and is now pretty much useless. Good riddance anyways, it's not really that good.
So now I have to invest in a new one and I thought that I might as well buy something remotely useful.
The two I'm considering are:
TVLogic VFM-056W
and...
This was actually the first video I shot with the FS100 back in August. I didn't get to look too much into the functions and limitations of the camera before the shoot, so it turned out to be a genuine keying challenge. Never the less here it is 7 months later. Shot entirely on greenscreen to...
I do food photography for a living, and while there's a slight amount of taste to lighting food, we generally have a style called New Nordic here in Denmark.
I like the idea of it as it's based around one light source, often just a powerful light bounced combined with daylight.
In my case I...
Now before you jump the gun and refer to previous threads... I have searched and failed.
What I want to do is pretty precise, but I'm not sure if I can do it in AE alone without first pulling the footage through Cinema 4D or similar.
I have a shot clip of 4-5 secs from the actors pov looking...
Just thought I'd share this, however insignificant it might be :) In other words... this is not cinematography. It's just a quick test.
I'm using the Zeiss with the Fotodiox kind of adapter. It's not that great to be honest. It bit too much play between lens and adapter, but I reckon that if...
I sure have appreciated that people on this forum are so overbearing even though a lot of us audio noobs keep asking the same question. Also have I enjoyed Chad's and Guy's test videos and I'm pretty sure they had some leverage in terms of me buying what I did.
But one thing I have missed, and...
Not only aimed towards audio, but in this case I'm asking because my example involves audio products.
I just received my MixPre-D from proav.co.uk. They were fast to process the order and sent the items.
However I'm always a bit paranoid when ordering online since I can't tell if they just went...
