Hi,
when I zoom out (With Servo-zoom) with my hvx-200 I hear a "Grunge" near the full zoom-out point. Then when I zoom in, I hear that same Grunge for a few seconds until it is zoomed in a little bit. Then there is no noise. The noise occurs only in the fully zoomed out region.
I sent the...
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone knows how to instruct premiere to export a timeline into several 2GB clips? I have to export a 1.5 hour long timeline to After Effects in uncompressed format. (In after effects, there is a command to split clips at X GB, but I cannot see it in premiere)
Since there are...
Hi everyone,
I have a 90 minutes HD timeline in premiere pro. I cannot split the timeline because it is a live event. If I export to SD mpeg2 directly from the timeline, it looks awful.
with music videos, I would render to uncompressed HD, downconvert in After Effects to SD uncompressed and...
Hi Everyone,
Since this forum has been a great source of info, I would like to give something back.
Going through the frustration of choosing the right equipment for a particular job, I decided to conduct some tests.
A little background: I work at McGill University as an Audio/Video Tech. In...
Today I did some tests. My brand new foto flo 400, 4X 4' tubes; against my old diva lite 400, 4X 2' biax tubes.
Guess what, the Diva has more output and covers as much vertical space, even though it is half the height.
I put the Diva and foto flo side by side about 10 feet in front of a...
Hi, I need some tubes for my new fixtures. Kinos are expensive and do not come at 3200k for the diva lite so:
Does anyone have experience with Osram Dulux, Osram Studioline and cool lights?
Is there a marked difference between the 3 types?
Thanks
Hi,
I use Vegas 8 and I want to export my project to aaf. for use with After effects.
When I do, some layers are out of time, some layers are cropped the wrong way, etc.
Is there a sure, exact way to do this without discrepencies between the vegas project and the imported .aaf in AE?
Hi,
1-I am building a DIY fluo light rig for a music video. The hardware store guy has OSRAM OEM ballasts, but the specs says 25 KW. Since I am used to see KHz, I was wondering if someone knows what it means. How fast could I set my shutter with that?
2- Are daylight balanced tungsten lights...
Hi,
I have a stage, 12 feet wide by 12 feet deep. One model on stage to shoot.
What would be the difference between putting one diva lite 400 on both sides in front of the model, and putting one 2 bank 4' foto flo (Vertically) on both sides?
I mostly do weddings, but I just got into doing...

Hi,
I want to buy new fluo lights and would like to know which one is the best overall bet:
Foto flo 400 or diva light 400. Since I can get either for about the same price, any field-tested advice? I do mostly video, and so far I only used Fresnel type stuff.
Hi, I need a good monitor to use for color reference.
My choices are:
Brand new: JVC TMH-150CGU 15-Inch Color Production Monitor
Used: Sony BVM-14G5U 14 inch monitor
Is there anything better at a good quality / price ratio.
If Buying a used monitor, what should I watch for?
Hi,
I am trying to play a 720 24p, Raylight avi through my Decklink HD Extreme with no success. If I play the file in vegas, the video plays fine on the video output of the decklink. With premiere, I tried everything, but I get no output on the video out.
If I play an .mxf file using the P2...
Hi Everyone. I did something bad: I put the chroma at +2 on my hvx200, using the cine-like D setting.
Result: The red background in the picture is overly saturated. Could someone tell me how to salvage the footage? I would like to de-saturate the red, without washing out the skin tones too...
