konova lights

I take it you're not in the USA. That model you showed only runs on 220v 50hz per the Ebay listing. Won't work in the USA if you're here.

They offer to mark the parcels as "gifts" to save on shipping fees... "Look my granpa just sent me a fluo lamp from Korea as a present..."
Yeah right...

Hehe. I'll bet you that light is made in China and exported through Korea. Labor in Korea is much higher than in China so its not uncommon for many Korean companies to have connections in China. Japan had already been doing that for years too.

THanks for your comments.

Yeah, I expect the lights to be low quality. I just want to know if you would expect those to flicker, vary in color, etc. Since I have the kinos, I would bolt those cheap lights to the ceiling and never touch those. I just need some more ambient lighting, but the Kinos broke my budget!

Well of course I haven't seen that exact model but there are a lot of that type floating around China. Its the most common fluorescent fixture in fact. Its pretty lightweight and most likely the ballast is fine but it does only work in a 220v only environment so if thats what you use where you're at, its fine.

I order a 120V one from konova to test 3 weeks ago.Just got it.
The quality is better than I thought.
They said it uses the ballast from OSRAM,I tested seems not bad.
At least that worth 164$+59$
And they showed me something same as Kino.

The first picture doesn´t look at all like the rest...
You have a metal fixture, with metal barndoors?
Or is it a kinoflo knock off, that uses the same plastic as the kinos (= lightweight)...?

No, I think he's saying they also showed a model thats like a Kino Flo Diva but thats not what he got. He got a metal studio type model.

alexander.s

do you have a link to the diva-type plastic light? I can't seem to find it and the 4x55 studio models that look similar to the flolights models do not have switchable banks according to the seller, meaning the 4 or 6 banks can't be switched down to 4 or 2 bulbs.

i've got their price list.
they are asking 970Euro incl VAT for 4' - 4 bank kino style fixture

that's insane.

stick with Chineese Steve on ebay:thumbup:

Are these the ones from Romania?
The thing I really like about the CoolLight flos is that they aren´t just Kino knock offs, but a refined product...

yes the one I mentioned above is from Bucharest, Romania.

Let me know if somebody need their price list.

cheers

Hehe, we're doing a prototype 6 bank four foot fixture this time. That is, if I can get a hold of 6 Kino 75w four foot tubes to test with. Pretty darn light considering its 6 tubes. Ballast will be external with cable.
