I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but I'm super confused on the sensitivity of the F3.
For the longest time, I've heard that it was 800 ISO at 0 db in normal mode and 1600 ISO in S-Log.
Last night however, we were shooting and the camera seemed WAY darker than 800 ISO...
Been thinking of getting one of these to cover my wide range but was wondering how fish-eye they look on an APS-C sized sensor. I've got the 60D and I want something that works well for my wider shots but I don't want incredible distortion that makes it look like I'm in a Terry Gilliam movie.
I love the 18mm focal length for full wide shots when working on a crop-sensor camera. It's about the same FoV that I got used to on the HVX200 and EX1 when they were zoomed all the way out.
So why exactly is a fast 18mm prime so hard to find? I understand why they're rare for vintage...

Because of my interest in deep focus, I recently purchased some Cokin split diopters which came with the Cokin system holder which is essentially a mini-matt box. I actually think the system is pretty cool and much cheaper than a real matt box.
I have a conundrum now in that I need to buy...

I've been wanting an ultra-wide for a while and this seems super cheap. Will it work on a...
It is accomplished!
Got my hands on an 85mm which means that I've finally finished my collection of Nikon Primes (for now...)! It's great because now, for smaller projects, I'll be fine using these instead of spending extra cash renting a set of primes from somewhere else. To recap the...
I'm working on some abstract techniques in a new film and I always thought the blurred haze of colors was interesting that one sees when one is looking through the eye piece of a DSLR without a lens attached. I'm interested in somehow capturing this in motion and was wondering what would...
For years, I've been impressed with deep focus photography in it's various forms (double exposure, high f-stop, and split diopter). I've played a bit with using super high f-stops and trying to do composits of two focuses but now I'm really curious to try some split diopter stuff.
My only...

Now that I'm starting to get a small collection of lenses, I was wondering if anyone know of a super-cheap carrying bag I could grab for them. I've seen some online but they're $60-$150 which is far more than I'm looking to pay for something which is just holding my fairly cheap lenses. Any tips?
Found a Nikon 50mm E series (F 1.8) for $50 at a pawn shop. It's got the standard F Mount and now i'm wondering what kind of adaptor I need to put it on my 60D. Also, is there anything else I need to do before I start messing with vintage primes? Is there any kind of tutorial for this stuff?
Hey guys. I came across a 135mm Vintage Minalta in a pawn shop (F2.8). Can this mount to my 60D with an adaptor and is it worth the $30 they're asking for it (seems in good shape)?
I've been looking for an audio option with my 60D and I recently heard of someone offering a zoom H4 for pretty cheap (little over $100). I know everyone swears by the H4N but I don't know if I can afford $300 at this point. Thus far, I've been having to bust out my HVX200 and use it as a B-cam...
