Will this lens work with my 60D

You can, if you buy a GH2 :)

Except then a 16mm won't be wide enough. Then I'll want a 12mm.

Not to mention paying another $1000 for a new camera body kind of defeats the purpose of trying to track down old lenses to save money.

And the GH2 isn't a very good stills camera which is what I really want a wide for anyway (I can always just rent a 10-16mm for a weekend video shoot).

Well bugger.

So there really is no cheap way for me to get a 16mm-18mm lens...

The best cheap 18mm is the kit lens. If you want a cheap _ultrawide_ for aps-c, then no, there's no choice, not for any crop sensor platform.

Good, cheap and wide, pick any two.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have looked at the Samyang and the Tokina and, while they're great values, still way out of my price range at $400 and $800 respectively. Thus far, I've been fortunate in that, amongst the Nikon primes I've purchased, all but one has been under $100 (the 85mm 1.8 cost me $160). I do have a kit lens at 18mm but it's 3.5 which is still slower than the slowest of my other lenses (24mm 2.8). I guess I'll just have to live with the fact that I'll be upping the ISO on my wide shots and they'll be noisier than the rest.

I should probably just be greatful that I put together a near complete set of primes (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 105mm) for around $400 total which I can make work on a RED, FS100, and F3 (I think...)

My surprise is that the field of view of an 18mm on a ASPC is one that I've gotten very used to in my years of shooting. 18mm is about what the widest setting is on the HVX200 zoom and the EX1 zoom. When I look at a location, I'm thinking of that FoV as my maximum wideness and pick my locations appropriately. It's just going to take time to think of things in a more cramped frame of mind (or with more light needed).

Very well said. I'll just have to pray I can one day have enough spare cash to afford the Samyang 14mm. At least with that, I'll have as wide I personally will ever need and it should also be just wide enough to suit me if I have to work with a GH2 or AF100 (they can be adapted right?)
