Melody for Allyriane - A Cowboy Scene Film

sweet simple story. life. good times, and before too long, good memories, if your lucky enough to be around to have em. good work! really like the man's acting. i can see someone like clint eastwood taking on this role too. of course then i also further imagined him shooting someone too...kidding. sort of....

overall i liked it a lot!

Brilliant! i loved this film from beginning to end. it was one of my top 3.. i hope you do very well in this fest you deserve it!

It has to be good with a guitar and forgetting the song!! We both had that in our films but both totally different paths.

Anyway this was a really good film. Probably in my top 10 right now. The two actors were great and your cutting was good. Enjoy you're film a lot.

A very simple story, that played out nicely. I understand that this is a fairly slow, subtle piece, but the opening sequence of pulling out the guitar, putting it on the bench, opening it, could have pushed through a bit more and still kept all the right pacing and the nuances needed. I think overall this piece could have been assisted with subtle camera movement as well.

Just some opinions there.

Good entry for sure.

I'm one who really dislikes making "Top (insert number)" lists. If you ask me my favorite film, album, song, etc., I can never answer it.

But if I were pressed to make a top ten, this film certainly makes mine as well. Like I said, it starts off with a great Samuel Beckett vibe.

Thank you Zim! I still haven't gotten to yours, but I'm very much looking forward to it now.

Noel, I agree with the subtle camera movements for sure.

Thanks Lawsuit Boy!

Really awesome film man. So much was right here...lighting, composition, colors but I have to say that my favorite part was the performaces...lots of subtle nuances that rang true for me. Beautiful and well executed...not much else that I can say. Great work!!

Thank you so much Champloo!

Very enjoyable film, Jason.

There is an interesting 'cruelty' in the female. I could see this play out much longer to explore this 'emotionally unavailable' woman that drives a man to creative brilliance.

My only qualm is pulling the guitar case from what appears to be a closet in use, and blowing the dust off it. Maybe he just hasn't touched it in decades, yet maintains the rest, which is completely plausible.

Nice on the reluctance to admit the song is gone.

Yeah, nice film.

Thanks Alex!

As far as the closet, out of curiosity, what made you think it was in use? It's location? My thought was that he used it as a storage closet. The only other stuff I put in it were basically cardboard boxes. I don't think that honestly you can see much else of what's in there in the actual film though.

I liked the pacing man.

So what, did they get divorced, or is she dead?

Nice colors, this was HVX correct?

Audio was terrific, and the shots were real nice as well.

This one should do good!

Robbie

Robbie, thank you for the compliments! I think Rodney answered your question perfectly. Gold star for Rodney! In addition, I wanted to leave it open for the viewer to fill in their own backstory, the one that resonated with their own life.

Really loved this! So simple, so touching. Loved the ambiguity - always brave to leave so much to interpretation but it really works here and makes this a thought provoking powerful little film. You've racked up oodles of empathy in your protagonist; thanks to the script, the set dressing and a very likeable lead actor. Poignant, sombre, pretty to look at and wonderfully understated. Great job all round - best of luck with this!!!
