Outside shot... ( First Exterior Red frame grab )

Looks stunning. Can't wait for more outdoors pix.

By the way, I just got my reservation number by e-mail... RED #791, baby!!!

Fixed the blown-out highlights in Photoshop - they're still there! A little CC too, to mute the reds.

Hmmm... never been there before *cue Twilight Zone theme*.

But back onto topic. If I wasn't excited already, I'd be ecstatic. The quality is amazing and I can't wait for more. Great work, Jim and team RED!

quick flight through discreet DI - highlights detail revealed. DOF increased. intense forest made. "Vintage" style added, 125% of what one should do for cinematic release, aimed at your computer monitors folks. subtle bleach bypass process and a little bit of promist simulation on the clothes. shadow contrasts strechted to make look a little bit more punchy.

p.s. i am jealous - how do i make the image show up inside the text?

give me cinealta, 35mm, DI, filmlaserrecorders - but my home VCR and this webforum are to complicated for me.... :)

Mr. Jarred Land, mighty president of this forum - how do i enhance my attachement image from small to large? i feel inferior & discriminated :) is it because our little chat about lenses in that other thread that you switched my images to "small - the image size users of MY forum deserve who dare to critic me"? :)

Those who have larger images are hosting them elsewhere [on their own webspace] and using the {img}www.address.com/image.jpg{/img} tag, where {} is replaced with [].

That looks GREAT Anders! I had to do the side by side comparison with the original pic and the CC'd one you did. Very cool.

I can't wait to see this projected in a few weeks!

Not sure what's planned for the screening, but it sure would be great to see the uncolor corrected footage to see what the camera captured as well as PRO color corrected versions of the same footage to really show the full potential.

I really feel sorry for all of you who live too far from the LA screening. As far as I'm concerned, RED day is an official holiday, here.

almost-black edge pixels

almost-black edge pixels

This is an absolutely gorgeous picture, I can find nothing to complain about.

I am curious about the dark borders- they are not (0,0,0) black but have a few counts of noise, predominantly green. I'm guessing these are masked-off edge pixels on the sensor, used for measuring DC offset (black balance, etc.) ?
Or was that truly black to start and I'm just seeing quantization noise leftovers from the JPEG compression?
