Outside shot... ( First Exterior Red frame grab )

Jannard

Red Leader
We shot this today. We expect that the footage from today will make it to the Hollywood showing. One day left for a reservation. No pressure.

No dead pixel correction, no noise reduction, no sharpening, no Photoshop tweaking... straight out of REDCINE. Frame grab from 24fps @ 1/48th sec.

In the words of Belok...

In the words of Belok...

It's beautiful!! Can you tell us the setup? What lens were you using, what f-stop, and what lights did you have on those girls? Btw, I love using retro for this! One of your test shots at a later point should be a Tommy gun going off full auto :-).

What I love about this picture is that it captures a truely period feel, something I have not seen elsewhere except on film. Congrats Jim.

Very nice... how about a high contrast sunset with waves.... GLAD to see some new pics... I was beginning to get bored checking the forums. Please have a photo a week or more => keep our dreams alive... I need some passion to look forward to... thanks.

We are doing the best we can... "Frankie" is touchy about being moved around. This was shot is the parking lot. Some footage today was shot in bright sun and will be shown in Hollywood mid November.

We will do all the shots necessary to make everyone feel good when we put RED ONE Proto X together in December as planned. Until then, it is just bits and pieces.

Jim

awe....he has a name, "Frankie", so cute. Jim, can you please take a good picture of Frankie? I can understand you not wanting to show now, but after Red is released I'd still love to see a picture of what you are shooting with now.

Poor Frankie :) Good thing touchy little Franky steps up to the plate and takes such incredible images.

Looks great Jim, nice art direction. The fact this is untouched... Damn, I wish I could go to the screening, Brook W. hope you have fun on my invite! (laughter turns to tears...)

Wow, great to see it. I haven't had a chance to play with it in depth, but notice how smoothly it transitions into overexposure on the bottle...

And I'll be sure to have fun with your invite, but you'll have fun with a camera I can't afford.

Oh yeah, as per usual, I've ravaged the image. The purpose here was to find as much detail as possible in the bottle. Even with significant jpeg compression... there's information to be had. I'd love to see a RAW to see how far it really goes [more notably on the collar of the left girl], but this is excellent.

hahaha good one Brook. I am sure at some point we can arrange some RED fun as well when I do get a chance to make my Cali tour. :-)

We have our hands full... but one thing is for sure, the footage this camera makes will not disappoint. Money back guarantee!

Jim

Nice location. It looks like a Hollywood backlot. :)

I assume you used Cooke S4's for this ? Very smooth. Well worth the wait. I'm sure you all have the list of shots we want to see (deep DOF, motion, vistas, high contrast etc...). Looking at this first exterior pic; I'm really excited to see more.

Diggin' the retro vibe. You guys are always surprising me;)
