Zacuto EVF or EVF Pro?

Thinking of picking up an EVF for a GH2 and the Zacuto seems to be the best option at the moment. The Pro model is nearly $300 more than the std one - is it really worth it, or is it just up selling? I want to use it as an EVF, not a monitor... so can't see really needing to flip up the viewfinder, and fogging isn't a major issue here in sunny South Africa. Thoughts??

Also had a chance to play with their EVF mount today - generally I think Z-stuff is overpriced, and this piece is damn expensive, but it's also fantastically thought out and robust. MUUUUCH more solid than mounting the EVF on a Noga arm (and certainly better than the wonky Redrock arms I currently have).

If you don't need a fine tuning diopter, then just get the snap or regular EVF. In fact, many other loupes will fit the EVF.

Sounding a bit thick here, but the fine tuning diopter is simply to deal with eyesight problems, right?

Correct. They both offer the stacks to get the focus close, but the pro adds a knob on the lens to fine tune more.

wow...i just check out the seagull. Ths really cool it accepts the evf snap. I already have a zfinder for my evfsnap but just in case i lost it this is a nice replacement.

I have been thinking of trying out one of these so it may be an option for you as well. It seems to work very well on the Canon cameras. I'm not sure if I like mounting it with the sticky frame to my LCD screen but it seems to be the same concept as the LCDVF listed above. Just a cheaper version.

Anybody actually use one of these on a GH1/GH2. It does list a GF1 for support so I assume it would work.

If your eyes are good and you are under 40 then the snap with a Z-Finder Jr. is a good option. You still can use it as a monitor because the Z-Finder snaps on and off, just as it does on the back of the camera. Steve
