WTF is this stock music trend?

Hamsters? I guess they have the same pitch as squirrels.

Chip an' Dale first appeared in 1943 Disney's classic: Private Pluto.

Chip ‘n Dale were chipmunks.

Squirrels chirp. Loudly. And the ones around here look like they lift twice a day and take steroids.

Sorry for that, it's the same in my language and thank you, today I learned the difference between ground squirrel and chipmunk.

I've noticed this trend, it is horrific sounding, 100% agreed. Hamsters should remain in Kia commercials and in cages in 9 year old girls rooms.

I hadn't realized that Hamster dance was derived from that old Robin Hood film, haha!
I have been noticing this trend on youtuber videos but in some of those it kind of fit, since they were just light hearted fun videos to begin with. I didn't know it was sweeping into other areas of production.
Is this the ukulele replacement that many have lamented?
What next? Do we get the high pitched hamster voice with ukulele in the same songs?

10 million views?! I do not get this at all.

Do a little research and you discover that a large percentage of YouTube views are fake, generated by bots. This MIGHT
have that many views or it might have 500 views and the rest of the views were purchased using bots. I always tell clients
to remember that everything you see on TV is fake, even a lot of the stuff that seems so real. YouTube is the same by extension.

10 million views isn't that much anymore. Especially for an account with over 200K subs.

Views...likelier explanation is it was picked up or referenced by another account (or more) that has millions of subs at some point.

Gosh, that is somethin'...! I don't even know how to react to that video.

Many of the of the entertainment YouTubers do music videos...it's a thing on YouTube.

The are a real band and have a following. Contemporary meme culture has hit music and there can be layers of irony.

When I was 18, I bought the album California by Mr. Bungle, on the advice of my record store acquaintances. I thought they were playing a joke on me when I heard the music. Now I think it's a classic. Tastes and preferences vary and change.

And they did blow up. Here's a remix of one of their songs, featuring Fall Out Boy and the lead singer of Chiodos:

And here's a remix featuring Charli XCX:

also goes for Facebook likes, Twitter follows, and everything else these companies do. They're in the money-harvesting business, not the information or truth business.

Definitely exists, but that's old business.

Companies have figured out it makes more sense to pay someone with access to hundreds of thousands, millions of eyes to say something nice about you.

Pay a few people and you could potentially have hundreds of millions of people see it...would never be able to buy that many likes or followers.

Exactly. Aputure doesn't give away lights to every YouTuber with over 500 views because they're nice dudes/xudes/dudettes

I'd be surprised if they let them all keep it...that would be terrible business when much bigger companies circulate their non-keeper products, but maybe the aggressive strategy for already in general over-priced products (in my opinion) actually works well for those who want lights instead of money. (Also depends on the product.)

Around 2007-08, I wrote a few opinion pieces for a sports site and actually got paid for it. A few years later, that site exploded with clicks. I, and a friend of mine who recommended me for that site to begin with, immediately thought that the sudden jump in viewership was due to the bots number rigging.

Of course, YouTube is not above a channel throttling either.

+1000%. layers and layers

California IS a classic, I didn't expect to ever see a Mr. Bungle reference on this website lol. This thread is really hilarious and entertaining
