Thats a nice video copilot project!
how long did it take to do the cg effect?
It's really nice, but the CG stuff is what sells the shot..
a decent attempt at a videocopilot.com tutorial. pretty rough but not bad for a first attempt
Sorry Oliax but i only welcome constructive criticism so i am going to have to mentally reject your comment. To be constructive i will need you to offer some points that i can improve upon instead of just throwing your two cents out there into the wind. This is a community where we should help each other to grow as artist and professionals. If you would like to discuss some areas i can improve on or some techniques that would help the shot sell better i would be very tentative to them. Even better if you would like to show some shots of yours where you have executed said techniques that would be even better. But just saying it is "a little rough" without offering some more information is utterly useless to me and makes yourself look a little dick-ish.
What you did in one day with one computer and a few programs would have taken days if not weeks, a team of animators and thousands of dollars back in the day.
We are living in a golden era for independent producers and filmmakers.
Think about that!
it's impossible to escape from message board dicks.
my two cents - it seems like the slowmo is applied too early. maybe if it was like right when the gun fired or after it would look a little better. that being said, i still think it looks awesome and it has made me stoked to play with some 3d modeling (and buy an hmc150 lol)
I agree with you Rory, the gunshot scene could have use a bit more light. As for the negative comment guy I agree with you as well that his attitude sucks. The best part of all of this was the gunshot lead me to your reel and I think it is awesome! I look forward to keeping an eye on your and your stuff to see what great things I am sure you will accomplish in the future.
