WOW: my new shoulder mount with rod support

I'm really excited, thanks for your help, insanity :)

I just hope I get all of my pieces. The rods are cheap, so getting longer ones is no biggie.

No problem, Brandon. Good luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Gini's not returning my emails now (i've bought plenty from him) so he must be busy building and shipping :)

I put together a rig with slightly extended rods out of my extra parts that I'm going to sell soon. If you look at the pics you can see that simply extending the rods of the main frame gives you plenty of room for a bigger camera.

Got my rigs yesterday and played around a bit. This Gini stuff turned out to be the blast. Great quality, low prices and fast shipping. I can totally recommend buying from this guy. Both of my setups work well and all I can say: Who needs Zacuto DSLR rigs? The rapid fire costs 550.- and is more expensive than both of my rigs.
Insane!

Check them out here:

Looking good! I got the (70-1 HIGH) for 260 + 65 shipping to Finland.

Also the guy has been communicating with me pretty fast. Less then a day to answer all my inquiries. Just got an email that he is out of some parts and was very sorry that it will take 3-4 days to get them. Its obviously english translated with google etc. but its understandable and seems like a stand up person.

Looking forward to trying it out!!

Mine shipped today. Guaranteed delivery on Thursday.

Very excited.

Where the heck can you buy handle grips? Bike shops? Anywhere else?

(FAKE EDIT)

Essami, I got the same message...but it shippped a few hours later.

For handles, try roller blade shops. They also sell scooters, and some of the grips fit perfect on the 15mm tube.

Brandon. The Mooseskin grips I bought feel really great. Plus you can mount them on to different rods on the rig to give different places to grip if not doing shoulder-mount.

Ouch!
That's not for the price. They are cheap as chips. It's for the sharp angles.

I didn't pay full price, but wanted to test how this would work in aluminum and free up some of the other parts used to make the grip connection.

I'm actually, like many I would assume, working on my own dDSLR rig design so I'm trying to do as much experimenting as possible before I lock in my designs.

I'll still keep interested parties abreast of how it works out:)

pix2pixels: not sure what you mean about chips and sharp angles :)

Speaking of angles I might dip the whole thing in rubber coating and see what that does. Just because :)

I was a little bit sarcastic: not REALY cheap and it looks like the design of the handles is a little bit on the 'hard' side, not very comfy for the hands.
This is only from the look of it, could be different when one holds it. It reminds me of the design of some Russian movie cameras: wherever you touched it, you got a bruise or a cut.
;-(

this is my handheld gini rig, easy control to record button, space for future FF, I dont have camera base plate yet, so i use a tripod plate for camera

it's so light, handheld shot is more steady now

here's a quick pic

oh man, this is great... what a wonderful alternative to the $1000 redrock version that is basically the same

Just bought one also, for 290 + 65 shipping to Brazil

I'll let you know when it arrives :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
