World Builder

wow. the pre-visualization of that project must have taken him MONTHS. every shot had to be meticulously planned...post must have been pretty arduous. wow. very cool.

Outstanding!!! this shows the power of human brain and it's previsualization abilities! I can't even imagine how hard the postproduction was.

You had to have mad skillz just demonstrate that the guy in the film had mad skillz. Then you had to do the actual work. Fantastic stuff.

That was breathtaking. I really enjoyed that it had a story, and it wasn't just "look what I can do."

His production reel was rather impressive as well.

That was awesomeness. Beeyooteeful.

You guys notice at the end of the creds, he thanks a 'Robert Rodriguez'?...

I believe he is a janitor of the future who went to M.I.T. just to get the job.
So basicly he is a perv .
Still Great work .

Oh man this just frustates me, from a techincal perspective its excellent;

parts of that video demonstrates some technical possibilties that frustrate me because its an idea I've worked on/off for a while now, but right now its just out of my programing & hardware reach:

Imagine a software/hardware that in REALTIME, does what that guy did in post production over two years, and then you will understand my frustration... **sigh**

By "REALTIME" are you talking about Workflow/Model Construction/Texturing etc. or his monster RENDER times?

both ;)

And I've witnessed parts of existing technologies that would allow it.

Think about the ability to generate massive 3d cities (with the level of customerization down to indiviual window sills, doors etc)

then think, the ability to film that "virtual" location via your REAL camera;

the technologies exist today (but in different fields/industries), however merging them into one product/ software/hardware solution is the real hard part.

I wish I had my own R&D facility and money to burn, but as a single developer (working full time) who only has a few hours to spare in the weekends such projects are only a dream,..
