WON 2nd Place in GoDaddy Commercial Contest

F*cking Brilliant! Congratulations man, well done, you deserve it.
Love the concept and direction for that client.

Thanks everybody. I always play to win, but I also know how to lose gracefully :) 2nd place is A O K in this case.

SURE SHOTT: Money is always welcome. We did split it up amongst all involved, but I'm not complaining :)

Hey all.

Our commercial fingerfighting.com won the 2nd place spot in the GoDaddy commercial contest.

Got to see it play twice today during the Indy500, which was pretty cool!

The whole spot was shot on the t2i with stock 18-55mm lens. No color correction, etc.

$50K , wow....... Also I thought people said the Kit Lens is garbage

Great work and this should be inspiration to us all!

Cieloent: Not that long ago I was one of the people that was hung up on the gear making a big difference. Ultimately, I think it still matters, but I have a feeling it doesn't matter as much as we all like to think :) Is the kit lens great? Not great, but not bad. Does it work? I would have to say "yes" :)

We have very little excuses from a technological standpoint...and I'm not the first to feel this way.

Thanks Jason. I'll try not to spend my share all in one spot!!

BADASS DUDE!!!!! Congrats and great job on the commercial, you guys deserve it, and to be honest, I liked it a lot better than the #1 spot which was pretty good too, so atleast you didn't get robbed :)

Thanks Jordan.

Thanks Rakesh. I really liked Go Momma as well. I think they did a great job. Not a bad spot to lose to. Of course, I still like ours best :)

Thanks guys.

JON. The team takes a split on the $50k, but the prize is $50k, so that's pretty cool. I think after taxes, I'll have enough for an ipad...but I'm not complaining ;)

That's so rad.

Score one for the kit lens. : )

For sure. I realize over the years I've been pretty much a camera snob, even though I'm mostly a director, but this little camera sure makes things fun....and even the kit lens.

I also strapped my old Nikon AI glass on it and that seems even more amazing, but in a pinch the kit lens will do fine.

It is going to be a bit hard to say goodbye to the GH1, but the t2i makes it a bit easier the more I use it.

OK, now I'm hijacking my own thread:)

Of the top 4 that I watched on there yours was the best. It felt more like a godaddy.com commercial compared to the others especially with the hot girl and everything. That's sorta the whole point of a godaddy.com commercial to sex it up and have fun.

Thanks. I agree, of course:)

GoDaddy is trying, a bit, to move in a slightly different direction, but they've been so aggressive with the sexy ads that it's going to be a tough road.

We tried to mix the sexy with a bit of story.

The funny thing is that the version that is on their site and the one that showed on TV has been edited to cover up the massive amount of cleavage that we showed in the original. I'm not sure how they did it, but I would assume it was after effects or something.

This has been an interesting experience.

Thanks to everybody for checking it out.

Cool, how many people were on the team.

Seems like a cool thing to put on your video resume as well
