Wolf Tree

oh look at you mr. steadicam! i'm def coming to visit you so we can shoot something. make sure that mine shaft doesn't go anywhere.

oh it's not going anywhere, but it's like the Hotel California. "You can check out any time you like..."

actaully, can you tell us about how the steadicam works, is it easy to use?

my favorite thing to shoot with. Poor man's "Full Steadicam" setup. It's a Glidecam 4000 Steady Shooter setup, from I think about 2006. Easy to balance and go all day with relatively light cameras like the FS700 I'm using there. It's a vest, stabilizing arm with adjustable tension springs to make the camera "float", and a Glidecam 4000 basic gimble thingabob camera platform with the counter weights on bottom.

It's simple and easy. I could actually do a lot of the same things without the vest and arm but it gets fatigue sets in sooner. With this I can shoot fast and free all day.

And for anyone with a deeper geeky curiosity--the tape was because HDMI connections suck and we didn't have the locking kind of cables to more securely record to the Ninja 2.

We used about 6 or 7 lights that were about $35 a piece from Amazon (Neewer) and a large LitePanels LED panel. [..] Was happy that we never needed to fire up a generator.
1) Good! Thanks for the info!
2) That's always a good thing when you can go "portable" to shoot.
Here I am in "Rebel Without A Crew But That's Good Because He Needs To Exercise" mode.
Oh! I'm feeling poor with my little setup! ;)
Added new teaser poster on the first page from the talented Mr. Harris!
Looks nice.

Love the new poster (great Job Matt)! I have to second the Glidecam set-up, I have the X-10 and the vest & arm make all the difference, you can go pretty much all day.
...and remember Elton, "If you can't fix it with duct tape or a hammer, it's an electrical problem"!

:shocked:After seeing all these great filmmakers stills and such, I often wonder why I even bother, but it's just too much fun. :love4:

Isn't that the funny thing about frame grabs, though? Can be very misleading, just like trailers. I'm confident I've got something decent, but we'll see if it blends after I chop it.

"Wagon Train's a really cool show, but did you notice they never get anywhere? They just keep wagon training."

Still looking good. Must be fun shooting in a cave...cold & damp (or at least all the caves in the northeast are)... But fun.
So glad we'll have the films ON Halloween, I'm going to have a little viewing party.
