Wolf Tree

Coolness...but are you a glutton for punishment? Why not rent that Panasonic 3D camera and shoot on it--that way you've already shot it twice!
I was just going to duct tape the two cameras together...that will work...right?
:)

Actually extremely well for not shooting yet. I'm very excited because things are falling into place.

I have nearly finished casting and securing crew, props, etc. We are doing a cold reading with some talent on Sunday, and I am going back to a location to do more scouting.

Maybe it sounds like overkill, but you know me ZaZa, I have a hard time taking small bites. Trust me, you will see why it took me a while to get going on this.

We will be shooting by the end of the month. I plan on doing some video blogs from the set for fun. Interviewing people, bts stuff etc.

If everything goes as planned (which usually never happens), I should start by the end of the month as well.
Script should be done by next week. 2 actors out of three are confirmed. 1 location still to confirm. Fingers crossed!

Excellent drapeama! Glad you're going for it!

Here's some footage from a location we might possibly use. It's just me walking around with a dslr and a wide lens. Ignore the music--I realize it's melodramatic but I am a big Elmer Bernstein fan and for some reason when I watched the footage of my kids exploring it made me think of "To Kill a Mockingbird." The extra long shot was to basically give a tour of the location in its entirety.

Very nice location Elton (and beautiful children, makes be remember when my girls were that age!).
How did you find the place and what was involved in getting permissions to use it? I've found some nice
spots, but can't always get permission to use them. Most of the time, it's a matter of, "what if someone gets hurt?"...
do you carry insurance to cover that stuff, even for a short?

Thanks ZaZa. :) I'm afraid I can only claim luck in this case. I was walking around the location with the kids when lo and behold the owner of the property (a vast acreage alongside the mountain which includes the mine) pulled up in a pickup truck with some grand kids on tow. It was a surreal moment...I just told him about our film while my kids started playing with his grand kids. I think they were my good luck charm--and it turned out we had mutual friends and family we knew from my wife's home town nearby. A very small world indeed.

Looks like we are shooting this weekend too!

Oh man....nice.... And yes, I believe the kid's are the good luck charm. Have a great shoot!

Shooting Saturday and Sunday. I am a little dizzy; I have a crew. I have makeup FX!! I have a porta potty and motor home for the location!

So far it almost seems to good to be true so I'm starting to get a little superstitious and paranoid, expecting a fairly serious calamity to balance out all this good luck.

Will post some grabs next week if I survive.

Thanks Brandon. MUCH to come after this weekend. Working with more cast and crew than I ever have before. (On personal projects)

Suddenly I'm worried about feeding 25 people and a bazillion other things.

Cant sleep but going to try now.
