Because you don't know how this works...Windows 7 mobile has to be licensed for EACH mobile device. Android is installed (by the manufacturer)....for (you guessed it) FREE.

You don't know software, do you. C# is NOT FREE. MANY languages are NOT FREE.
I'm fairly certain that this forum is running on Apache. It seems to do just fine. I'm glad for Landmine media that the fact that the WebServer environment is (FREE), makes the webhosting costs cheaper...because the host isn't paying for Microsoft licensing fees (to run IIS)

FYI...you can save as .doc files in Open Office....and if you install it at your business....you will cost (FREE)....where as using MS Office will cost thousands!
No problem....as I said....I don't disagree....but it appears that you do not know how the Open Source movement has impacted the VERY FIBER OF YOUR WORLD....LITERALLY. So, for those of us who come from software (and write code using open source all day long)....this actually wasn't that "far fetched"....that's my point. If this were "Pre-Linus Torvalds" ....and we hadn't see this before...then YES...I would feel silly! Based on what I see every day....not out of character at all. (Based on the Ucast that I listened to....character wasn't the strong point of this group.)
