Which Mac Book Pro for T2i + HD Editing

Lets not derail this thread, because I'm more than sure I can pull out benchmarks stating otherwise.

I'd love to see this, as even the threads on mac users own forums argue against that. I can supply links via PM if you are interested in pursuing this silly argument.

If your not ready to switch to PC then get the better one. You will like the 1Ghz Graphics card. You can add RAM later if money is an issue. Unless you need 16Gb of RAM the 8Gb upgrade is right around $100. I had a 13" from the previous generation and it worked fine. It just did not work awesome. I own the new 15" 2.2Ghz Thunderbolt and I love it. As I already have a Mac Pro the 17" seemed like overkill.

Wow. I just realized I have posted this in at least five threads. Wouldn't it be great if while the OP was typing the original post the forum used the keywords to suggest threads that already exist?

Anyway my question is of these 2 computers below is there really a difference between the 2.0 ghz quad core and 2.2 ghz quad core? I was thinking abut going with the 2.0 ghz then using the saved 300 bucks on putting 8gb of RAM instead of the stock 4gb's (or is 8gb of RAM over kill?).

As has been mentioned, clock speed/efficiency is key in lowering render times. I wouldn't bother with more than 4GB of RAM at this point as the current version of FCP is 32-bit only an so won't use more than 3GB of RAM anyway. You can always upgrade later if need be.
