WHERE THE HEART LIES ... Johnson, Hyten, Golden & Bullis

You guys are crazy. I'm supposed to be amorphous: without a face? You can't be showin' people what I look like.

Oh,.... "AMORPHOUS" ... I get it. We thought you said you were supposed to be ANAMORPHIC.

Yeah, you might've heard me right had you not been totally ished-face when I got there. xD Just kidding.

Post up a BTS montage! I wanna see how BAD I did.

Dude its great stuff. We'll put together a clip of your stuff and get it up by tomorrow hopefully!

I must have been sh*t-faced. I thought you were a skinny asian dude. .... :)

Man, I want you to come to all our shoots with that cam. Only next time, bring that beauty with you that you brought to the music video shoot last year.

NOBODY hides in one of our productions...NOBODY.

Thanks for the link to the blog - that's awesome news. I'm green with envy. :)

Let me know how it goes.

We'll be going back up in a friggin' week to shoot Vienna's performance portion of the video on Whidbey Island. Although the weather might be dicey, we're going to be shooting at a pretty amazing place. We found a piano technician who is an environmental activist and he built a huge compound out of only recycled materials he scrounged from landfills. It's got two hot tubs in the woods, zip lines, trampolines and 187 pianos that he's collected over time. He's told us he'll give us a few of his pianos with ruined soundboards that we can "do with as we please - including shoving off a cliff or dragging into the surf." The guy is a professional clown to boot, so it should be interesting.

Vienna has been really great and says she's up to bunking in a sleeping bag if need be. Norm Sanders is our actor (see post for frame grabs: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showpost.php?p=1126069&postcount=282)

I'll get some BTS for sure.

You can do some nice shots with it and it's perfect for ultra slow, short movements. Leveling it can take a little time but it's definitely faster than trying to level an 8-foot section of track...

The only thing that bugged me a little was being limited to using the attached bogen head which didn't allow for really smooth pan/tilt in my opinion. A CAM was setup with a cartoni plate/head whereas B CAM was setup with a bogen plate/head (another set of sticks and the indi slider). It worked for this production since we had access to 2 cams but on a single cam shoot, it'd be best to have the same heads operating on both the slider and sticks. I think there is an bogen adapter plate you can hook up to the slider which allows you to use any ball fluid head.

Awesome! Yeah, I understand about the head issue though... might have to play around a little with it, I take it the "slider" is something we could use on a smaller set where you couldn't really fit a dolly.

It's with much regret that we missed our chance of working with Tom Marshall's immeasurable acting chops. We were unfortunately forced to adjust our shooting schedule due to unforeseen circumcisions...er, circumstances. Tom was, at the time, incommunicado and we had to press a crew member, Oliver Noble, into service on extremely shot notice.

Yeah, it was a real downer because Tommy is OUR man. I believe he had a late shoot the previous day and had been required to turn his phone off - thus, we couldn't reach him when we needed to shoot the scene. Tommy, we shall buy you a cigar and a good glass of Guiness to recompense partially. ....

Thanks Blaine and Mark. I so rarely turn off my phone... only for shooting things, which doesn't happen as often as I wish. When I got home, I was so worn out from shooting all day, I completely forgot to turn my phone back on. :(

I wish I could have been there. It looks like you guys had a good time...

"Men, you're lucky men. Soon you will all be fighting for your planet. Many of you will be dying for your planet. A few of you will be forced through a fine mesh screen for your planet. They will be the luckiest of all."

One of my favorites...

"So, a plot to assassinate a weird looking alien with scissors. How very neutral of you. But everybody knows that rock beats scissors. But paper beats rock. And scissors beats paper! Kif, we have a conundrum."
