GH2 What's in your GH2 bag? (feature)

If you were shooting a feature film.. on a budget.

What is the minimum of lenses and focal lengths you'd have in your bag?

I'm not looking for actual brands or anything.. just what you'd want for the variety of shots you might need to get.

We are talking on a basis of having to use old primes and not renting cinema lenses.

What would be in your bag?

I was just wondering, because I always read "nikon" is the ticket. He specificially lists AI lenses. I have mostly FD lenses.

If you already have FDs, you are fine. For anyone starting out, Nikon is a better deal simply because they are more adaptable. You can use them on practically anything where the FDs can't easily be mounted on, say, a 5D or C300.

That said, FDs are still great lenses.

I always have a spare battery, 45mm Olly, 20mm Panny, 85mm Nikkor, 55mm Vivitar, spare SDHC card, Sennheiser Video mic, in a waterproof case.

I jus got the gh2 / 14-140mm . i plan on getting a mic, led light , fisheye, pancake 20mm, extra battery, ect.also a few good sd cards
I have the PNY 16GB class10 20Mbs card , and i havnt hacked my gh2 yet. what would be a good hack to test out on it ? somthing below
44m? I also have a 13'mbp 2.3c2d / 4gb ram.

Thanks for any advice

I never liked the 14-140 for video, but YMMV! Suggest you pick up a legacy prime for $25. 20mm rocks.

The 45mm Olympus is great. I wish it was stabilized, but that's a small complaint. It's sharp and the autofocus is really nice to have.

For lenses.. I've really taken this to heart and I believe that I have a really great collection of glass for both a feature and also for most other applications. It's taken me about a year and a half to get this stuff and it's thanks in a large part to this website and it's fine members. Quite a few were recommended by Barry and that's reason enough right there to buy a lens. I do also agree about the Nikon for modern lenses and that's what I'm going to pick up... BUT.. I absolutely simply love the Canon FD lenses. They are so awesome.... But to run down my collection they are...

Lumix 14-140, Lumix 20mm, Lumix 7-14, Voigtlander 25mm .95, Hyperprime 12mm 1.6, 50mm FD 1.4, 135mm Nikon F2, There are a few omissions that I'm planning on buying to complete this kit and more than likely they will be in the Nikon F mount range. I'm going to pick up a 35mm 1.4 and also a 85mm 1.4. So then I'll have a nice range of wide lenses, fast lenses and some telephoto as well... Ohh and I almost forgot, I'm probably going to also pick up the Lumix 100-300mm...

cheers.

Vivitar Series 1 28-90. A good WA adapter. Some cards. Some extra batteries. A gorillapod. Two Lowel pro lights with stands and assorted color and diffusion gels (or similar 250-750W lighting). Some blackwrap and gaffer tape, sharpies, pens, C57's, and a notepad. A few granola bars and a bottle of water. Good comfortable shoes. Pants. Shirt optional.

I have a Canon FD 1.4 50mm, Yashinon 1.7 50mm, Rexagon 28mm 2.8, 14-40 kit lens.

What should I add?

What Huff said.

Although a 20/1.7 and a 50/1.4 could be a good run too.

2 x 64gb Sandisk Cards

Two full sets of NDs. A black promist 1 (full) 77mm mount

Two circular Polarizers

Card reader, something simple for offloading on the fly

Four batteries OR a rig with three V-Mounts that power 5.6" and camera at the same time.

Blackwrap and paper tape for fake Lens shade.

Get it done.

Yeah, right on Kholi, I love the filter suggestions, I'd also add an ND grad 1/2, .9 for outdoor shots, I know it'll only get used once or twice but it makes a difference. And ND for the windows, otherwise you'll have everyone either living like a vampire or having every window blow out during the day. Also a propper white card to WB with... I know it seems like going overboard but having one may help you to remember. A nice double sided bounce board also might come in handy but I'm getting more into grip stuff...
