so far in my lens collection I have:

Nikon 50mm 1.4
Nikon 35mm 2.0
Zenitar 16mm 2.8 fisheye
Canon 100mm 2.8L
Tokina 80-200 2.8-5.6

I'm thinking about picking up the T2I kit lens, is that any good? What holes need to be filled in my lineup as far as narrative goes? Also, is the Tokina really worth keeping? I've had it for about 8 months now and havnt used it once.

The kit lens is OK but with the lenses you have it may be a step down in sharpness. The variable aperture will piss you off sooner or later. Probably sell the Tokina 80-200 and get a 17-50 2.8 Tamron to cover the wide end for now. It's not the sharpest lens in the world. but compared to the 18-55 kit lens about twice as fast and quite a bit sharper on the wide end. The tamron does seem to get softer in the corners though at the wide end, but at 50/55 much sharper overall at 5.6

Here is the side by side showing the difference in sharpness between the canon 18-55 and the Tamron 17-50.

Or maybe find a nice Nikon 18mm manual ais. Can't go wrong with that in the long haul.
