What do you drive?

I´m just curious, who even knows the cars I drive, especially american users :)
So the first one is a 21 year old commie car (made in Czechoslovakia) that used to belong to my grandfather:
Skoda Favorit 1,3 :D

I must admit, I have the money and oporunity to buy a new car anytime, but I simply love the damn crapbox! :D
It can be fixed with a rock, it´s cheap to run, it´s quite spacious inside, you get pure driving expirience since there´s no electronics, no ABS, no power asisted steering.
And even thou it´s a bit... hm.... 80s, I think I doesn´t look that bad (designed by Stille Bertone in Italy)
I just can´t sell it. It´s been in the family for 21 years now, it´s more like a family member :D
And what would I get for it? 500euro?

The next car is a Renault Clio

Again, small cheap to buy, run and insure. Has a reasonable 100 HP from a 1,4L engine. Does about 50-60 MPG, 0-100 in about 11 seconds.

I hope to buy a Clio sport some day. 2.0L, 200 HP, it´s a mean little machine :)

some may remember when I first got my truck.

It has since been paid in full and the pink slip resides with me. No car payment is epic.

Honda Element, they just canceled em' but I think it's great, can fill it full of junk, perfect for shoots.

I'm looking into buying a car right now. It has to be a Chevy, don't question ;)

I'm either thinking about the Cobalt SS Turbo or the HHR

The Cobalt Pros:

Super fast! 260 horses! Small, fast, good MPG, and Blast to drive.

Cons:
2-door, small coupe, manual transmission in LA traffic.

HHR:
Pro's
peppy for being a small SUV/Car type thing
Fits A TON of stuff inside.

Cons
Kinda ugly, no?

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Funny I was choosing cars back when this thread started. I went with the HHR. Now just over two years old! Looky there, the same age as this thread roughly! :)

A 2000 vintage (Not!) Rover 25.
Nothing special but it gets me around, and parking where I live is such that anything bigger is a PITA to find a space.
I'm too hard-up / cheapskate to get anything newer. When I do it will be S/H, possibly a small MPV.
Oh, I should mention it's the 1.8 VVC GTi version, no distingishing marks unless you count the wider than expected (For a 25) tires.

Turned in the 2007 Mercedes Benz R class and the 2007 Saturn Outlook off of lease. and bought a 1999 ford expedition and a 2002 Saab Aero wagon. They aint pretty, but I have $1100 extra in my pocket every month and we still get around.

2001 honda s2000 right now. Best 4 cylinder ever made: 240hp 2.0 liter that revs to 9000. It had the most HP/liter of any naturally-aspirated piston engine until the new Ferrari 458 earlier this year. It'll do 155...supposedly. Not the best for carrying gear around though. It'll fit my tripod, small camera bag, and slider in the trunk (the top doesn't take up trunk space). Once I had a last minute gig where I had to take my jib. It only fit with the top down, but thankfully it was summertime.

Usually if I'm bringing extra gear along I'll borrow my brother's Ford Ranger or my girlfriend's '03 Jetta. Hopefully she'll get something else soon. That Jetta a terrible car. Tons of electrical problems, the transmission gets stuck in park in the cold, and it sounds like the Titanic sinking. Maybe the new Hyundai Veloster will be as good as it sounds. Sporty hatchback, direct-injected motor, dual-clutch transmission, 40mpg--like a cheaper, more economical GTI. Hyundai/Kia has really stepped up their game. I'd buy Korean over Japanese right now. Honda makes nothing remotely exciting, all Toyotas look like bloated plastic toys, and Nissan really doesn't do it for me. Now Ford and Hyundai jumped in and released a ton of good cars in a really short span of time. The Japanese really slipped up, but I'm sure they'll be fine. Short rant over

TowerFan....SWEET!

2007 Honda Ridgeline (daily driver in winter, lug gear, kids, the occasional drunk woman & animals)
1994 Mazda Miata (fits in the trunk of the Road Runner in case of an emergency)

Just got one last August - really liking it so far. Gas mileage is WAY better than my Isuzu Rodeo.

you'll like it Timur.

Awesome..... :)

Believe it or not, i wind up in offroad situations alot being a DP. a lot of the time, locations are in out of the way places. Hence my current obsession with AWD and good ground clearance.

2006 International 20 foot grip truck for heavy lifting. For the lighter stuff a Lincoln Navigator and for fun a Mercedes Benz SLK 350 Roadster. The oil companies and insurance companies love me!
