What do I need to make this shot?

So, today I tried getting a super-makro shot on a burning cigarette. With the circular flame filling the whole screen. Yeah...
I tried everything from a 2.8 samyang wideangle to my 1000mm soviet tank lens... it's not even close to what I want. Now, I'm going to try a cigar instead of a cig next time, but it will still not do, size-wise. Unfortunetaly I no longer have GH2, cus then I would try sensor-crop.

IDEAS? Also need to do a similar thing on an eye... project deadline in 4 weeks. Need to get this fixed by then. Is the chepast sollution here to pick up a GH2 again and hope for the sensor crop to do it?

Extension tube? I think that's the only way you can get insects and such to nearly fill the whole frame. For a crazy idea try cutting off a paper towel tube to different lengths and hand hold your lens until you get the size your after. Then you'll know what or if there is an extension tube that will work.

Cheers

You can get a cheap set of extension tubes made for Canon EOS on ebay. Otherwise, you really need to have a macro lens.
