What Canon Vixia would you recommend other then the HFS100?

I love the Canon Vixia FS100. I want to buy another, and wondered if I should look at a newer model of the Vixia line. But I hope to be very close to the same color match so I can use both cameras in post-production. It does not have to be this month brand new, but something newish that came out after the HFS100. These cameras look like a small family video-camera, and don't look impressive when you bring to a job, but they do a great job shooting footage in low light, and I feel are very sharp and good color. Of course I add a better mic to it.

I'm really sorry and this is totally not helpful to you, but when you say "they do a great job shooting footage in low light, and I feel are very sharp and good color" are you only referring to the FS series? i have an M30, and i'm having trouble getting good quality out of it. It's a good camera other than that, if that helps you at all. I think it's an older model than yours.

I have both - the HFS21 is a worthy successor and they produce similiar pictures so you will be fine as far as picture quality goes.

The M30 is a newer model, but with a small sensor than the HFS lineup.

Currently Canon's HF linup of Vixias is:

HF R100
HF R10

HF M300
HF M30

HF S200
HF S20
HF S21

And let's not forget there is still the venerable VIXIA HV40.

It makes a fantastic picture and can be bought for $650 new these days. A great buy!

Also the HFS200 is $675 at B&H, also a great buy!

Hehe, and I can say unequivocally that I owned both the HFS200 and still have the HV30, that while I hated the fact that the HV30 was tape based, the images out of the camera TROUNCED the HFS200. I ran test after test after test and think the HV20/HV30/HV40 just produce WAY better video. Also, the HV30 has MUCH better low light response.

Of course, I own the AF100 now so it's time to let my HV30 go to ebay where it can find a nice new home and be appreciated again! :)
