...oh, I forget her name, figures, the girl with black hair and tattoos all over her arms, from Toronto, I think. Hair from the 60's or 30's or something. Damn I forget her name. What the hell is her name? It's easy.
Saw a documentary on her once. Dammit.
...

Figured out her name. Whew, I can finally get to sleep. She grew up in both the U.S and Canada. I guess that kind of threw me.

Bif Naked. Dammit!

Yeah, the album totally rocks!

My god, that is some sick skiing!!! OK, the music's cool, too, but what a trailer!

Well, the trailer is just amazing. So sick shots an locations.

I didn't mind the music at first too, maybe I was overwhelmed by the visuals. But later on my girlfriend showed me some more tracks of The Glirch Mob and realized how great they are!

Heres another great track:

Saw that the other day. Pretty funny man. Pretty good too.

The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea Album!

Check out their song "Animus Vox" in this absolutely jaw dropping trailer for a Skiing film called "Revolver".

That video was crazy insane.
I'm not much into techno music though but I can appreciate it.

I think I missed a couple posts. I'll have to backtrack.
Yeah, there's some great new bands out there. I love hearing this new stuff.

I gotta do a repost of Uwe Lansing's post earlier.

Zebra by Beach House.

Man, I was singing this to myself all morning for about 4 hours
until someone put on country music. I can't get this out of my head.
I love this song. Thanks Uwe.

Well, it is actually no techno. It is some kind of experimental electronic music. But I don't blame you for not knowing, as there are sooooooo many subgenres of electronic music.

I think it is always best to just call it electronic music, as you can sometimes hurt some feelings if you name the wrong subgenre like techno or house or something else.

I hear quite mixed, but am more drawn to electronic music. I often find a mix band music and electronic the best.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. It's not an area I usually devle into, so I wouldn't know, or care, what the terms are. But I suppose even that area is broken up into sub categories and cliques as you suggest. Yeah, just the way it is.

I'm pretty open to any genre I think, at least way more so than regular listeners.
The category thing though, I just won't be able to keep up with.

A friend of mine's son experimented with bass guitar a bit. I used to play with his father. It's not exactly formatted, and just expressed in chunks of ideas, thus the experiment. But I'll post it again.

But I guess the point is, it is a bit weird to hear that someone might be offended by me calling their music one thing or another. It's all just notes, in the end. But I guess some people can get sensitive about it. What can I say?

Anyways, this kid doesn't play for a living outside of weekend gigs for fun. Ya know.

+1 to the CEE LO song F* YOU, loving that tune.

Recently Ive gotten really into electronic music and overtime Im growing into understand the subgenres and seeing how they can be distinct while overlapping with other genres. But dont get me wrong no one should ever get upset over mislabeling!

A lot of the subgenres overlap so you can have elements of techo, glitch, IDM, dubstep, drum n bass, all on the same album. So it does seem much easier to just call it electronic. But you can look any of these up to understand better.

Heres Modeselektor Kill Bill vol 4, its 'electronic' (elements of glitch, IDM, techno, electro)

Theres a most recent subgenre that Im getting into is called "8bit" which is defined as "sound formats where many of the sound textures are synthesized or sequenced in real time by a computer or video game console sound chip, sometimes including sample-based synthesis and low bit sample playback"

This is my one of my fav glitch/8bit songs Mesak - Silversand, make sure it LOUD :)

I´m pleased that you like it. I´ve found this song on Luci´s website. After 11 years NYC she just came back to Germany (Berlin): http://goodhardworkingpeople.blogspot.com/2010/08/musicmonday-beach-house-zebra.html - Its the voice of that girl - simply awesome. First time I´ve heard that song and she started to sing I got goosebumps...
