What are you listening to now ?

... Wondering how some of these operas would sound...probably a trip!

I don't like heavy - or any - processing on the operatic voices. It's not needed, even minor compression.

But, since we're onto 4-8 channel audio universe, does this sound any differently?

I skipped around. I think they would classify that under 3D audio. Similar concept, but if you take a listen to the tracks I linked (if you want) for more than a minute to take it in, you'll hear 8D is different. It's relatively new (at least most people finding out about it and it blowing up on YouTube in the last year or so).

Need headphones though or it doesn't really work.

Nice!

That's putting me in a good place.
Something about it.The Bass guitar is right on. Can you imagine an old man sitting by himself at the very back of the bar with a smile on his face? lol. Because that
would be me if I could be there right now. It's putting me back in time for some reason right now.

That YT link also opens up alot of other YT band links (on my YT page anyways) from
that area, I think, that will keep me busy exploring over the days as well.
Hey man, thanks for the post. (Just catching up on some of the previous posts as well.)

Here's another vid by them:

NorBro: I've yet to experience 8D audio. That sounds very interesting. I do need a good headphone set again anyways. My earbuds don't seem to cut it with 8D. Maybe it's my sound card too. I'll have to look into it.

Rap isn't a style of music that I'm that familiar with. There is a gentleman here on dvx that grew up at the very start of rap (hip-hop beginnings)
in New York City. I'll try and find a thread by him here on dvx years ago talking about those early days (this may take me awhile).
I distinctly remembering asking him many questions in that thread as it was very interesting.

Hey NorBro. -Cheers man. :)

Springsteen and the E-Street band as I first heard them 'before!' he became famous. A buddy (from Ont. here) had the L.P in Calgary when I went out there in '80 or something. ;)
As I became to learn later he was primarily popular in the East USA area prior to "Born in the USA" which then went viral everywhere. :) [Hope I'm not over-posting blahblah :)]

Born to Run (Live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London '75)

...and that's it this set haha. -Beers. :)

I bought a Dr.John tutorial tape from HomeSpun years ago. It included sheet music + a dvd(VHS video cassette back then) of him explaining everything including overhead cams of the keyboard as he played. He also talks about his early days including living in New Orleans playing in bars/clubs.
I bought many-many tutorial tapes from HomeSpun in those days.

R.I.P Dr.John.

Now this tape (a sample of it) I bought from HomeSpun years ago.

A waltz from Kalman's "Gypsy Fiddler" - "Dance across heavens"

Not the best dancers ... nonetheless .... shimmy from "Die Bajadere"

And one of my all time faves Franz Fehringer with the Prince Radjami aria from "Die Bajadere"

As Monserrat Caballe looks on -

Hatsatsa from the "Gypsy Fiddler" (w/a delightfully cheery Trixi Teremi)

And the same number repurposed as "Barbar Tanc" with Szilvi Szendy and her belt.

More Trixi with Lehar's "Grisettenlied" from the "Merry Widow"

And "Braunes Mädel von der Puszta" ("Ringo vallu" in Hungarian)

While I'm not able to locate it yet I have narrowed it down to as being by Beat Takeshi. Title of the thread I'm not sure but
it was in the cafe around 2007-2009 I suspect. I'll browse around again later, whenever and maybe I'll stumble across it.

In the meantime I'm catching up on some of his past videos so here's one of his threads from 2013:
