We are cheating for IBC...

I'd HATE to be the custodian on duty at IBC....it's going to take alot of mops to clean up all that drool...

also wouldn't it be fitting if Lucas shoots his new film Red Tails on the RED camera??
 
oversampling always creates a better image.

This is not necessarily true... just look at the consumer 1CCD cameras out there. There's a trend towards cramming lots of pixels so that the video cameras can shoot higher-megapixel stills. On the downside, you lose in low light performance.

ive got to say that you had better get some serious technological achevement awards for this camera. and thanks for being a forward thinker and looking out for the little guys by helping to level the playing field and give aspiring filmmakers a really great tool to work with. have fun at IBC.

yes.. oversampling vs sliced from the same camera of course.. I didnt think i needed to explain that, sorry.

There's a whole can of worms. The porno industry has no interest in nice high resolution cameras: too hard to apply full body makeup.

We wish we had more time to shoot. Three days. That's it. Just finished and have two weeks to get it ready for IBC. We'll be spending the next few months putting the rig through its paces. Remember, we did not have a finished sensor design 8 months ago.
